He graduated from Edna High School class of 1991 and earned his associates degree at ITT Austin. He then worked at Dick’s/Field and Stream for five years before having to stop in February 2022.
Michael Trey always put his family first, a wonderful and exceptional man, husband, son and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Tina, son, Jake, daughter, Riley, his parents, Charles and Dorothy Reckaway and brother, Scott Reckaway.
A fine member of our community, he volunteered in neighborhood and children’s school events, member of The Journey Bible Fellowship, enjoyed playing and watching sports, outdoor activities, like fishing, hunting, and kayaking, in addition to spending time with family and friends.
Once he was diagnosed with ALS in November of 2020, he participated in several medical studies designed to find a cure for ALS.
He was strong, courageous, stubborn, and competitive when it came to his fight with ALS. He wanted to do all he could to fight to be here for his family and help others with this disease.
I do not know a braver man than Michael Trey Reckaway. He will be missed, but will continue to be loved.
A visitation for Michael will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641.
