James Tayloe Ragland, Jr, 67, passed away peacefully and suddenly in Leander, TX, on October 17, 2024. He was born on December 8, 1956, in San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents James T. (Sonny) Ragland & Virginia Deering Ragland of San Antonio, TX.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Yoshiko Ragland of Leander, TX, his loving daughter, Sabrina (Alex) Grounds of Austin, TX, his two adorable grandchildren,Joanna and Arlo Grounds, his sister, Sherrie (Ned) Teller of Port Aransas, TX, and his niece, Austin (Justin) DeBord of San Antonio, TX.
Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, granddaddy, brother and uncle whose wisdom, quick wit, kindness, and love will be greatly missed.
He was always available to give his loved ones sound advice, both wanted and unwanted, which will be sorely missed. He had an uncanny ability to share his superior knowledge of both Texas & American history. His love of "the oldies" music and ability to break out in song just because it made him happy, and his proud and joyous moments shared with his two grandchildren.
He cherished his career asa CPA and partner with Carpenter & Langford, PLLC, for 28 years. He had a love for hunting, fishing, and number crunching. A lifelong avid fan of the UT Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys football teams, plus a frequent and enthusiastic fan of Austin's Beatles Tribute Band, The Eggmen.
Jim will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he touched, and leaves this world with lyrics from the Beatles hit song, "The End" - "And In The End, The Love You Take, Is Equal To The Love, You Make".
The family is planning a private celebration of Jim's life at a later date in Rockport, TX.
