September 27, 1932 - May 31, 2023
Dora O. Villarreal beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on May 31, 2023 at the age of 90. She'll always be remembered for giving herself completely to motherhood and always believing that an unwavering faith in God and family can get you through the most difficult times. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved, valued and appreciated. You always left her side feeling like you were in the presence of an angel.
Born on September 27, 1932 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. She loved to sing, dance and spread joy to everyone around her. She married the late Juan De Dios Villarreal upon his return from the Korean War and quickly started a family. In a little over 5 years they ended up with seven kids and raised them in their humble home on the corner of Farias and Santa Maria in Laredo, Texas. If the math doesn't add up it's because there were two sets of twins nestled within those lucky seven. She never exhibited an ounce of anger or bitterness in the toughest of times and chose instead to always model love, laughter and kindness to her kids. She always put God first with her signature "primero Dios" in response to any issue or concern you brought her.
Dora is survived by her seven children: Gilberto A Villarreal, Raul L Villarreal, Luz V Cortez, Jesús G Villarreal, Juan DeDios Villarreal Jr, Maria G Villarreal and Isabel Z Garza. She also is survived by one sister, Irma Rodriguez from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. Her legacy will be her 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren which she loved dearly.
Qúe en paz descanse nuestra madrecita querída.
