James Kenneth “Ken” Davis, age 80 of Lawrenceburg TN, was born May 18, 1939 and passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He graduated from UT in 1962 with a degree in mechanical engineering and was a retired mechanical engineer and patent agent in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a farmer, contractor and airplane mechanic. He loved to fly and share his love of flying with others. Ken was an accomplished fisherman and fly-tyer. He used his talents and abilities in service to others as an Angel Flight Pilot, flying patients and families with medical needs to hospitals and treatments free of charge. He was also a volunteer worker on building crews in the Southeast U.S. and Mexico. Ken was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, TN.
He is preceded in death by his late wife, Joyce Nell Scribner Davis; Parents, James Siegel and Ruby Marie Davis.
He is survived by his Wife, Pat Pettus Davis; Children, Scott Davis (Nancy), Mark Davis (Ingrid), Jennifer Beck (Bryan); Stepchildren, Kim McClaren (Ron), Kris Francis (Jason); Sisters, Sharon Davis Massey, Kathy Davis Lampley, Patty Davis Smith; 14 Grandchildren; 5 Step Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Reggie Coleman officiating.
Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Tn.
