Reserved and logical are trademark qualities that friends and family might use to describe Willard “Frank” Bolden. Hard working and pragmatic, he was someone who had tremendous natural problem solving abilities. Always conscientious and focused on details, Frank could always be depended to get things done, on the job or at home. He was the son of James and Mary Bolden and was raised in Bainbridge, Georgia. He grew up with eight siblings. He had three younger brothers James, Pierce and Alvin; two older sisters Prudence and Lorraine; and three younger sisters Pinkie, Maggie and Clottis. Frank was a hard worker and a good provider who loved his family. He married Norma Johnson in 1947 and was blessed with four children, Gerald, Lynn, Brian and Terence. He has also been blessed with 6 grandchildren ( Jai-Sun, Juliana, Daryl, Darren, Myles and Taylor), and three great-grandchildren (Robert, Sloane and Jordan). Frank served for 24 years in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He served during World War II, including a tour in France. After retiring from the Air Force, Frank went to work for PGE, where he worked for 15 years as an electrician. Once retired, Frank found great pleasure by relaxing and watching sports on TV. Tops on his list were baseball and football. Even in retirement, he still enjoyed working around the house or helping family and friends with repairs and other projects. Twelve years ago, Frank and his beloved wife Norma moved from Fairfield, California, where they had lived for over 30 years, to North Las Vegas, Nevada. He called himself a “Las Vegan!” Frank passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013.
