Virginia was a devoted mother and friend to those who knew her.
She was born October 2, 1930, in Alcoa, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Albert Snapp and Josephine Osborne.
Virginia was initiated in 1953 into Alpha Kappa Alpha, Gamma Eta Chapter at Knoxville College in Knoxville Tennessee. Alpha Kappa Alpha was near and dear to her heart.
Virginia began her career in Mississippi where she served as an educator and in other capacities for 2 years. She later moved to Mound City, Illinois and taught there for 4 years. Virginia continued her pursuit as an educator and taught for 6 years in Chicago before settling down in Los Angeles where she gave 35 years of her life to educating others. After retiring from Los Angeles County Unified School District she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she has resided for 20 years.
She was a Golden Soror and a member of the Theta Mu Omega and Theta Theta Omega Chapters for many years. Her interests included reading, traveling and watching sports. She was an avid bridge member and player. She was an active Catholic and participated in other community activities.
Virginia was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Snapp, and son Kent L. Ingram.
Virginia had a vivacious personality. She made friends everywhere she went and always enjoyed a crowd. As much as she loved people, she treasured her friends and family more and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a grandmother.
She is survived by a grandson, Kent L. Ingram II and several nieces and nephews.
