Vicki passed away August 22, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vicki was the beloved daughter of Wilbur and Geraldine Satterfield. She was born August 19, 1949 in Fairmont, West Virginia. She leaves behind her loving husband, Dave Ewy, of almost 20 years; step-children Lori Williamson (husband, Troy), of Stillwater, Oklahoma; David G. Ewy of Azusa, California; Keith Ewy (wife, Kim) of Henderson, Nevada; and Lisa Medrow (husband, Chris) of Kansas City, Kansas; step-grandchildren, Shawn and Ryan Schoonover, Shayla Williamson, Darren and Kendra Ewy. Vicki also had two half-brothers, Donald and Johnny Satterfield, and a half-sister, Doris who all are now deceased. Vicki and her family moved to Las Vegas from West Virginia in 1961 and graduated from Rancho High in 1967. She went to work at the Test Site as an office secretary. A year later, she took a position as Executive Secretary to the President at the Frontier Hotel. After 18 years, the company was sold and Vicki moved on to accept a position as Human Relations Director at Palm Mortuary. She retired May 7, 1996, when she married Dave. Vicki kept very busy before and after retirement with her many talents. She was always involved in singing and acting, starting in grade school. As an adult, she was in 56 performances of “My Fair Lady,” 42 performances of “God Spell,” and 43 performances of “Street Car Named Desire,” all at the Meadows Playhouse. Vicki also performed in “South Pacific” at the Stardust Hotel and Casino. Most of these shows were in the 80’s and early 90’s. She spent many years as a lounge singer at the Frontier Hotel and other Las Vegas Strip Hotels. She belonged to a local singing group called “The Voices” that performed for many charities. A special hobby for her that she enjoyed was raising and showing Rottweilers. Vicki was an avid reader, and donned an extensive library of approximately 800 books, which she planned to donate to a local library. Her family will accomplish that at the appropriate time. In her youth, she would spend hour after hour on a friend’s horse riding the sagebrush trails outside of Las Vegas. Later in life she would own two Tennessee Walkers, her prized possessions, named Blue and Mocha. Vicki introduced her entire family to Safe Nest. Due to her efforts, her family made substantial contributions to a great and worthy organization. Her family will continue to support this charity that was so very important to Vicki. Services will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1 pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary (7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123).
