I worked with Ver many years ago at Solihull Hospital in the UK. He was such a gentle man and an exceptional nurse. My heart breaks for his family. May he be at peace xx

Verge, I still can't believe that you're not with us anymore. You are the nicest person I know and I've always looked at you as my work dad. You would always go out of your way to help people out no matter what you're doing. You would always help anyone that is in need. I remember when I first started out, you welcomed me like you've known me for a long time, and you would do that for anyone new in the unit. You always pushed me to be better, to grow wiser at work and in life. You're part of the reason why I always strive to learn new things. Your passion and caring thoughts for your patients and staff will always be embedded in my memory. I just wished that we could've went and go offroading and ride our motorcycles together and just cruise. We lost a family and a great friend, but heaven has gained a new angel. We will miss you Verge, and I know I will never forget about you and the things you have taught me. Until we meet each other again, till then, watch over us all. God bless to you and your family.

Vergel was one of the kindest souls  I’ve ever met and one of the best leaders I’ve ever had. CCU/CVCU will never be the same with out you Verg. I remember telling my new coworker the morning of his passing before I even heard the news “Vergel is seriously the best leader I’ve ever had, he will stop everything he is doing to help you and go out of his way to support you!”.  It was an honor to work for him and I will miss him very very much. You were taken from us was to soon Vergel. You are a true Angel looking down on us ❤️

Little did I know that your last visit with us to the Philippines in 2018 will be the last time that we will see each other. I am still devastated by your untimely passing. I am inspired in your efforts to be a great instructor to your students, rest assured that I will strive my best in becoming a great instructor to my students too. 

I am just hoping that you'll guide me as I pursue my future endeavors in life! I will always remember the good times you went home for vacation. But for now, you are finally home with Dad in heaven. Thank you Tito Ver and may you rest in peace. 

Vergel started with me at UMC September 2005. He was per diem at that time  then he took a full time job . He is a very hard working person always thinks of his family and has a lot of dreams for his family . He is a good nurse always helps everyone ! Heaven gained an angel ! You will be missed a lot by everyone ! Rest In Peace 🙏

Vergel and I became friends through "Clash Of Clans" 7 years ago. I remember Vergel once told me that we weren't just CoC friends, but we will always have a lifetime FRIENDSHIP. We remain friends even outside CoC. We had a great time together when they visited Manila last 2014. It was a fun meet-up with our CoC family. Vergel is a very kind, generous, down to earth and family-oriented person. We talked a lot about our family, and we even tell each other a joke about pairing our kids (Andrei and Francine) and be a real family one day. He gave me lots of advice on how to live and be successful here in the US. We can't express how sad we are when we found-out that Vergel (Bro V) is gone. We will miss you brother and, you will always be in our hearts. Unfortunately, we won't be able to see him as we plan to visit them next year. We love your family and, may you rest in peace with our Lord, Bro V.

We were just starting to plan for more adventures but you left so soon!  You were even looking forward to working with me in the Cath lab someday.  Simple and humble, that's who you are. Glad to have known you  Bro! May you rest in peace now.

Vergel I’m so very fortunate to have known you in this lifetime. You were a great friend, always with a smile on his face, very caring and helpful to me. I remember the times we had at Summerlin Hospital and then again at UMC. Always a great nurse for sure! I will miss you my friend and may you Rest In Peace. God will take care of your family now, they will be alright!

When I was asked to describe how Vergel was in our unit, here's my response.....

He was selfless, very forgiving, and dedicated charge nurse to our unit. He's very compassionate and helpful.  He was the IV nurse, MERT nurse, STAFF nurse and Charge nurse rolled into one. He loved outdoor activities like fishing, camping and hiking.  He even tried jetski and off roading. He was full of life and dreams! He was looking forward to his retirement here in UMC and even planned what to do after. He was so proud of his family and his family was his rock.  His life pretty much revolved around them and of course, CVCU. Very hardworking and very patient. 

And above all, he was a caring friend, always goes beyond to help, never complained of tasks assigned and he often said " it is what it is"! 
I will surely miss you Bro.  No more freshly brewed coffee before the start of my shift, and who will organize our cables now especially during Jcaho times? My weekend shift report will never be the same now that you're gone, but our long talks and good memories from our adventures will remain forever. May you rest in peace  Bro! 

It won’t be the same to work in CCU/CVCU without your presence, especially during the holidays. We will miss your 4th of July hotdogs, Xmas sweater night and New Year’s Eve parties. You were a charge nurse, teacher and mentor, who believed in me. Your advice, inspiration and motivation and your good critiques made me a better CVCU nurse. You were someone good and true. I will miss you.

Vergel, Your kind spirit and beautiful smile will be missed. I'm heartbroken knowing that your gone. You were such a generous, kind hearted man and such a wonderful nurse. Your smile was contagious and genuine. I'm so sad that you were taken from us so soon. I feel some comfort knowing that we have a beautiful angel looking over us. 

No words. He was like a big brother to everyone. He came to work and we are all “Bros” to him and him to us as well. A very kind soul that is how I will remember him.

While i only saw him a few times, i felt like i should aid in the memory of him. He was a very charming and funny man, and i always enjoyed having little chats with him while staying at their house. He made a tiny yet very enjoyable impact on my life.

Professor, my fellow students and I are truly heartbroken. You were an excellent teacher and showed infinite patience. We will think of you when we insert our IV’s, and we will remember you when we are monitoring our EKG strips. Thank you for all you have done for us; your kindness and empathy will always be remembered. We offer our sincerest condolences to your family.

No cardiologist or cardiovascular surgeon can fix our broken heart.  We lost a good nurse and a great person.  Place your angel wings on us and especially to your family as we grieve and mourn for our lost. We will truly miss Kuya Vergel.  Rest In Peace.

Kuya Ver, you were one of the kindest souls I know. You made sure that I was comfortable during my stay in your wonderful home. No words can express how devastated I am upon hearing the news. I can't help but think how unfair life is for taking your life in a gruesome manner. You were a perfect husband, a doting father, a loving brother, a loyal friend, a great coworker, and an obedient son. I will always cherish the time we spent together; our early morning coffee session while waiting for Ate from her shift, talking about life and how you were proud of me and Ate of what we have become. I will take good care of the Taj Mahal Lego you have given me during my birthday. I remember how you got mad when I refused to take it and you insisted that it should be added to my Lego collection so that it would always remind me of you. 

On behalf of the Reyes clan, we will be missing your smile and generosity. We will take care of Ate Liza, Andrei, Rev, Tita Toneng and Tita Virgie. Just what you mentioned when I was in Vegas on how you wanted me to be your children's second father, I know I have some big shoes to fill but I promise I won't let you down. May you rest in eternal peace Kuya Ver. Heaven is waiting for you. Till we meet again.

I always thought this was the nicest thing. I thanked vergel a dozen times... and I'd like to thanks him once more for making me feel so welcome that first day!

Sir Vergel was one of the best Clinical Instructors we had in nursing school way back 1998.Got to know so many things from him. Such a wise person gone so soon. When we had our first CEU Nursing Alumni here in the U.S. 3 years ago,he was very excited to see some familiar faces and to his surprise,he did not expect to meet our former College Dean again after almost 20 years! He was beyond elated. Our get together was cut short that day but it was full of memories and laughters. He told me that he wished it would not be the last reunion he would attend. I never thought that would be the last time to see Sir Vergel. I feel lucky because I was one of his students and I got to know him personally. It was such bliss. I still cannot decipher the fact that he has been called by the heavens too soon. Sir Ver lived such a remarkable life and we hope he got his peace of soul. I wish him happiness wherever he is. Our deepest sympathy to his family,his wife Analiza and his two sons. Rest Easy Sir Guintu 🙏

Vergel, my childhood friend. The most compassionate, selfless person that I have ever met in my life. He always made everyone laugh at his jokes. I'm a year older than him but he was always there to figure things out especially during nursing school. He always reserve an ear for a friend that is upset, always ready to listen, and he will be the biggest cheerleader when someone is down. Now I am in deep sorrow. It saddens me to hear your passing.
