Vera L. Pagan was born October 20, 1929 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late George Long and Florida M. Marshall; she was the youngest of three children. Her mother met and married Jesse C Morris, and her family relocated to Detroit, Michigan where she attended Sacred Heart and St Mary School, Northern High School and North Eastern High School. She was baptized and came to know Christ at an early age.
She moved to Los Angeles and later moved to Las Vegas where she resided with her youngest daughter and son. Vera was a very outgoing person who enjoyed life and being with her family; more importantly her kids. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, loved cooking and shopping. She loved music and dancing, and was a dresser her entire life always fashion forward. Vera loved having her family around and enjoyed yearly family Thanksgiving celebrations.
