I never met your dad in person however from the stories you shared with me about your relationship with your dad, I can tell how loving and caring your dad was to you.  It is very obvious that your dad raised one fine daughter who pours her love into this world passionately. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your loved ones.

Dear Nathalie 

Saying goodbye to our parents is one of the most painful things we endure in life. The pain you are feeling now, maybe so raw, but over time, though you’ll always miss him, it’ll hurt less. 
I would like to think that your dad lived a good life, had many laughs with all of you by his side. Take comfort in knowing that he is at peace now, reunited with his maker, looking  down on all of you smiling. Whether you believe in God or not, there is a saying in my religion, that “we shall return to whom we came from.” In times like this, I like to remind myself of this fact- one day we will all leave this place- what matters are the memories we leave behind for those we loved and the lives we touched. The memories you have of him, cherish the good ones, forget the bad ones, for there are both in any loving relationship. I feel for your loss my friend, and I hope you know, you can rely on us for comfort in any way we can.

Steven and Fofo were the first two I ever met and spoke with at Inzalaco park, like 6-7 years ago. Steven had a little boombox with some music playing, and Fofo made fast friends with Tank and Bella. We lost Bella, and now Steven and Fofo are together with Bella and I firmly believe that. We loved your guys’ presence and are so sorry for your loss. Deepest condolences,

I hope you soon find comfort on the good memories that you guys shared as a family. A saudade sempre vai existir (you will always miss him) but with time the pain is more manageable. When my dad passed away, my pain was very raw but with time I am able to find some peace, although I still think about him every day.  I am praying for you to find the same peace. I am sure that he is looking over you in heaven and with time I promise things will get better. Everyone has their own time to process the loss of someone we love so give your time some grace and I am here to talk whenever you need. Big hug to you!

My dad, Dong Ho Han, was the youngest of 10 children, grew up during the Korean War, lost his father and 2 eldest brothers when he was just 4 years old. He emigrated to São Paulo, Brasil in 1966 in a 2+ month-long ship ride that stopped all over the world as it traversed across one side of the world to another, then to Los Angeles, USA in 1991, to his final home in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008. 
He may not have been an educated man, he didn't receive prestigious awards but he taught me all I needed to know, whether it was through his own mistakes or wisdom from all he lived. He could look in my eyes and answer my questions. He loved his grandchildren fiercely, he loved the outdoors, and all animals loved him. He was a simple man, whose idea of perfection was churrasco, fruits, the sea/nature, with family laughter on the background. 
He was a rollingstone, never rode alone and was not an angel in his hay days. But in his final years, he made peace with himself and those who needed to hear his apology. He passed so peacefully and calmly, it was beautiful to have shared his last moments with my mom, who faithfully and so meticulously cared for him, affording him several years more of life with her. They were happiest these past 3 years of his journey and, as a daughter, it was the most fulfilling gift he could have granted Mom and us. 
He knows how much I hurt, how much I still look back to riding on his shoulders for all to see like it was yesterday. He knows how much I'll still need him but he knows I know he's with me all the time. So, for now, it's a rest easy, no more pain to be bothered by, only light and restful reconnection with all his family that have gone before him.
