Stan was one of three children born to parents Louis and Bess Mallin in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Mallin. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Sandra; five children, Jennifer Mallin (Jeff Miner), Jessica (Josh Pianko), Roni (Jesse Ferro), Michael Rosenberg, and Susan Davis-Yeargin (Markus Yeargin); thirteen grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, Olivia, Ethan, Sam, Max, Aaron, Emma, Owen, Sayde, Charlotte, Jason and Nathan; and sister, Adrianne Greenberg (Ronny). While attending the University of Missouri, his education was interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he completed his education and began his storied career in real estate development. It began in Atlanta and continued to Las Vegas where he and partner, Jay Sarno saw that there were no upscale hotels. They built the first themed hotel/casino, Caesars Palace in 1966 and later Circus Circus. Mr. Mallin was honored in 2019 by being inducted into the Gaming Hall of Fame, an honor he received at the age of 96. Upon receiving the honor, he quipped “I was worried when I first heard about this, "I thought oh! I’m being indicted, luckily, younger ears prevailed.” As a generous philanthropist, he and Sandra built the Sandra and Stanley Mallin Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth Sholom in 2000, as well as supporting many local organizations. “He was a gentle, unassuming, quiet man. One of the truly great pioneers of Las Vegas.” Donations may be made in his name to the Stanley and Sandra Mallin Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth Sholom. Funeral Services are at 11:00AM on Tuesday September 14, 2019 at Temple Beth Sholom. 10700 Havenwood Lane, Las Vegas, NV with internment following at King David Memorial Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
