Ruth is my moms sister, I remember after I graduated I moved to Louisiana where most of my family lived. Aunt Ruth got a job working at a fast food restaurant where she worked.  I said I never worked fast food before, she said girl if you can’t do that then you don’t know how to cook 😂 well I got in there and did my thing.. 

I met Ruth and 1982 and few years later she became my sister-in-law we work together at Marian hospital we also sung in the choir together we work hospitality at our church we did bake  sales garage sales spend the night at each other's house Ruth was always cooking something each time you walked in her house food was on the stove if it wasn't gumbo it was red beans and rice I tell you there's so many memories she was a beautiful soul and she will be missed dearly rest up Ruth  Amen

My memory of my Aunt Ruth is that she try to give me a spanking an, I ran up and down high way 36 ,she try her best to catch me she could not.  And she was a fashionista. She have a favorite make up it was fashion fair. Her favorite lip stick was rum raisin.  She never went any were with out being made up and was dress to the nine.


My greatest memory is the smile I NEVER saw her without.

Ruth is my youngest sister.  As kids Ruth always wanted to have her way. She knew that she couldn't beat me in fighting, so she would hit me and run.  One day we were watching tv, she wanted to change the channel. I told her, "no, and that I would take the tube out of the tv."  She hit me with a broom and ran through a field, to a good family friend's home. When I got to that home, Ruth was hiding behind her. Mrs. Georgia, would not let me hit her, but stated, " you are sisters and shouldn't be fighting." I told her, as I walked off, " that she has to come back home." Ruth waited there until,  she knew that our mom was home from work. 
I will miss our talks on the phone and laughing about crazy things we did as kids. You will always be in my heart.

My AUNTEE love her dearly, we called her bookie, she use to baby sit us ,and shewould make me laugh when we did something we were not supposed to, and she would say I'm gonna get ya, and she start rocking back and forth and huffing and puffing,it supposed to be a scare tactic but it was actually funny because she never laid a hand on us. Also ember her buying me my first suit when I got in the ministry. THANK you for those loving years we got to share together AUNTEE. Love ya ALWAYS. 


My thoughts and prayers are with the family  during this difficult time.  Keep the faith and lean on the Lord and he will carry you through.

I will miss my Aunt Ruth, I will miss hearing her soft voice and calling me baby.  She always loved to dress and wear her heels 👠 even with her bad knees. I can remember telling her Aunt Ruth you don’t need to be wearing those heels, she would just give me that look. I would just be quite after that and mind my business. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, she loved her family. I would send her cards for the holidays and she would call and tell me I’m not doing cards I rather call and hear your voice .

She is my mom's baby sister. They were always pregnant at the same time. She has 3 boys, one girl. My mother has 3 girls and 1 boy.  The eight of us are paired up, with just a few months difference in our ages. 
My aunt was a glamor girl. She always carried a big purse. It was always filled with makeup, perfume, deodorant, chewing gum and lots paper receipts. It took at least 5 minutes of digging in her purse, to find whatever see was looking for. If she still couldn't find what she was looking for, she would just dump the entire content out and sift through, until she found what she was looking for. What ever kid was closest by, would be called on to put all that back into her purse!
When we were young she and my mom would sit and talk in their mother's living room. Whenever they were talking about something or someone, that they didn't want my siblings nor her children to know about. They would spell to each other. One day, one of us repeated the words that they were spelling. Both of them was so shocked. So after that, we always had to go outside and play, when they were talking.
I will miss her smile, her laugh, but mostly her hugs. I will love you forever, your niece Lisa
