Ruben attended high school in Carson, California and University of California, Irvine. He married Irma Lopez in 1986 and two children were born of this union, a daughter, Tabitha and son Christopher.
He worked as a Marketing Coordinator for various companies while living in California. In Las Vegas, Ruben was employed by a telecommunications company working as a Credit Analyst and took pride in his work.
Ruben relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999 with his son and daughter, where he met Teresa Smith. Ruben and Teresa enjoyed a long-term companionship.
Ruben Loved spending time with his “Changos” as he affectionately called his children and Loved them the best way he knew how. He would be the life of any party and enjoyed fishing, watching movies, cooking, being a foodie, and riding his motorcycles with friends that quickly became family. Ruben liked to promote goodness and help others whenever he could. He worked as a volunteer as Santa Claus for the Shop with a Cop Event with the North Las Vegas Police Department.
Ruben was a very proud and loyal friend and believed in leaving no man behind, be it on the road or in any situation. Friends fondly refer to him as Uso and he will be missed at many runs all around the country. The road is a sadder place without him on it.
