Rosina “Rosy” Rodriguez, 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Mountain View Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She lived a long and full life. She was born on February 14, 1937 in Havana, Cuba to Ricardo and Casilda Ostolaza and was raised in the company of her siblings Ricardo, Victoria and Flavio.
She immigrated to the United States as a political refugee on October 31, 1965. A year later she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she eventually met her husband, Daniel Rodriguez, to whom she was married for 37 years before his passing in 2004. She spent many years working in the hospitality industry, including 25 years as a hostess at Café Roma and Café Lago in Caesars Palace. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Her final years were spent doing what she loved most – spending time with and helping to raise her three youngest grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Danny, Albert and Rosalynd along with her five grandchildren, Lauren, Danny Jr., Joseph, Nicholas and Anthony. She also leaves behind her brother Ricardo, her sister Victoria and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Palm Mortuary at 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123 from 3pm-7pm on Saturday, February 25th with services immediately following.
