Rosetta Louise Davis

Rosetta Louise was born to Robert Taft Johnson and Marie Annette Johnson (Proctor) on Good Friday April 17, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the only girl and the youngest of three. Her parents were both deaf and as the result of their disability she acted as an interpreter for several of her parents' friend and developed a love for spelling and public speaking. She attended public school and graduated from Douglas Senior High, Baltimore, Maryland.

During her younger years she attended St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Baltimore, Maryland and as a teen she served as the president of the Catholic Youth Organization for several years. In September 1956 she married her high-school sweetheart, William Sr., and from this union 4 children were born; Brian, William Jr. Allan and Sha-Ron. As a young Marine Corps wife, she traveled to several military installations. This union lasted for 10 years. In 1965, she met Joe Foster and from this relationship 1 son, Joseph, was born.

In 1966 she began working at the headquarters office of the Social Security Administration. During her years of employment she attended college at the Community College of Baltimore for several years. For many years she worked as a correspondent and then as a para-legal. She became a first line supervisor in 1975. In 1979 she accepted into a work program designed to enhance her career. While in that program she applied for and was one of 10 people accepted into a nation-wide work training program that allowed her to relocate. However, before she could report to her new position, her mother had another stroke and massive heart attack and she was forced to take a position close to home, In 1983, she took a job as n analyst and then as a modular supervisor. She remained in that position until she retired. Rosetta ended her career at Social Security Administration on Movember 10, 1989. For a short while she worked for the Welfare Department in Baltimore as an eligibility specialist.

In 1993 she moved to Las Vegas and began workingat Clark County Social Services in 1994 where she remained for 2 years. Furing this time she met Arthur and after a short courtship they married on December 10, 1994. Both she and Arthur were very active in church and they were ordained as Deacon & Deaconess on March 21, 1999. She has served as Church Secretary, Church Administrator and Pastor's Secretary for several pastors. In 2003 after the death of her oldest son, Brian, Mother Davis as she was affectionately called, joined New Antioch Christian Fellowship and began working as a Deaconess. She took a leave of absence from NACF to join her husband at his place of worship, Shekinah Glory, where she served as the church administrator for several years. She returned to New Antioch in March of 2010 and began working as a servant of the Sacraments in March 2011.

She leaves to celebrate her time of earth, Husband, Arthur, children - William Jr. Allan, Sha-Ron and Joseph, grandchildren - Tasha, Jeffrey, Michael, Dominique, Brian Jr., Trenia, and DuRonte, great-grandchildren - Andrew, Malaya, Amirah, Tyson, Ronnie, Eliza, Az'Nyah, Za'Kyrah, Zavionna, Charles, Nelly, Iysha, Imani, Jamir, Tyrone, Sarid, William and Emily. A brother, Melvin, two sister-in-laws, Susie and Alice, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother, Avon and her oldest son, Brian.
