Rogelio Aban Karagdag (Roger) was born in Manila, Philippines to Dolores Aban and Gervacio Karagdag. Growing up, Roger studied to be a banker at Manuel L. Quezon University and later worked as a security officer, examiner, and investigator at the Central Bank of the Philippines. In 1958, Roger met Loreta in Sagay, Camiguin, Philippines. They were married in Pasay City on November 27, 1960 and had five children: Malou, Jojo, Rolly, Marlene, and Randy.
Roger, Loreta, and Randy moved to the United States in 1991, and petitioned the rest of their children and grandchildren who joined them in Las Vegas in 2005.
Roger was generous, funny, and was a true family man. He made everyone laugh with his witty comments, and had a contagious smile. He peacefully died in the Grace of our Lord, surrounded by his family and friends on October 9, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Loreta (Silang); his children Malou and Willie, Jojo and Nellie, Rolly and Olive, Marlene and Julius, Randy and Joyce; and his grandchildren Charles, Sunshine and Karol, Aaron, RV and Nica, and Matthew and Lora
