He was born December 12, 1931 to Pedro & Atanacia Yabut in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. On March 16, 1955 he married Ester Yabut and together they had 7 children. He migrated to the United States in December 1968 where he resided in San Francisco, California before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a caddy in Manila and a cook in San Francisco and Las Vegas. His hobbies included cooking filipino and american cuisines, avid golfer, fishing, camping with his family, and a lover of Bay Area sports.
Roberto was blessed with a large and loving family. He helped raise his 7 children with patience, discipline, and humility. He also helped raise and care for his 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, cooking for them, and sharing stories from his childhood and adolescence. A lot of his stores focused on his dedication and sacrifices in bringing his family to the United States for an opportunity of a better life. He was a kind man with a huge heart, loving, funny, and gentle.
Roberto is survived by his children, Precy (Antonio), Enrique (Glenda), Teresa (Jaime), Rowena (Robert), Rowena (Wife of Leo Yabut), Salome (Pepito), Eliza (Julio); his grandchildren, Ruby, Ronald, Richard, Ariel, Marvin, Ryan, JJ, Samantha, RJ, Timothy, Sean, Kyle, Kayla, Kloe, Alexy, Alex, AJ, Anthony, Junior, Maceo, Isabella; his great grandchildren, Jru, Rayana, Jayda, Maggie, Jalen, Mia, Samiah, Troy, Reyella, Kyrie, Kingston, Analea; his sibling, Teresita De Leon.
Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro & Atanacia; his wife, Ester; his son, Leo; his granddaughter, Rachel; his siblings, Fred, Quentin, Wilhelmina, Elenita, Narding, and Felipe.
A visitation for Roberto will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A visitation will occur Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 22, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
