ROBERT PASSED AWAY IN THE PRESENCE OF HIS FAMILY AFTER AN 8 YEAR HARD -FOUGHT BATTLE WITH POLYMYOSITIS.
HE WAS BORN IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN TO BARBARA AND JOSEPH STASAK. HIS FATHER OWNED DETROIT SCREW MACHINE PRODUCTS WHICH MADE AUTOMOTIVE PARTS. HE WORKED THERE DURING HIGH SCHOOL BUSINESS COLLEGE AND AFTER FOR A TOTAL OF 17 YEARS,
BUT ALWAYS DESIRED TO GO INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT. IN 1978 HE MOVED TO LAS VEGAS AND FULFILLED HIS DREAM BEING HIRED BY THE NORTH LAS VEGAS POLICE DEPARTMENT AS A POLICE OFFICER WHERE HE SERVED FOR 22 YEARS, ESPECIALLY ENJOYING BEING A K-9 OFFICER. HE THEN CONTINUED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR THE US MARSHALL'S OFFICE AND LATER AT NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, MARY; TWO DAUGHTERS, BEVERLY (DWAYNE) DUNSEATH AND JULIE (MARK) TOROSIAN; SIX GRANDCHILDREN, DYLAN (MASHA) AND JORDYN DUNSEATH AND JUSTIN, BRANDAN, FAITH AND LUKE TOROSIAN, EXTENDED FAMILY AND AMAZING FRIENDS. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS AND BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW, GERALD AND SHARON STASAK. ROBERT WAS VERY FAITH-FILLED, LOVED THE LORD, HIS FAMILY, HIS DOGS, CORVETTES, MOTORCYCLES AND AIRPLANES. (NOT SURE OF THE EXACT ORDER, CORVETTES MAY BE HIGHER ON THE LIST.)
SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2024 AT 4:00 PM WITH A RECEPTION FOLLOWING FROM 5:00 TO 7:00 PM BOTH AT PALM MORTUARY, 7400 WEST CHEYENNE AVENUE, LAS VEGAS.
INTERMENT WILL BE AT A LATER DATE IN CALIENTE, NEVADA.
