Robert was born February 4, 1947 in New York, New York. He spent his early years with his mother Helen and his favorite dog Snoopy. As an adult he worked for Chudnow Manufacturing, Long Island, New York as a machinist for 35 years. After the passing of his mother he moved to Las Vegas to be near his sister, Lorraine.
He began work in Las Vegas as a courtesy clerk at Albertsons where he worked until he retired in 2015. Robert was recognized as the Goodwill Achiever of the year in 2000 and the Desert Regional Center Client of the year in 2009. He spent his retirement years at Brookdale Assisted Living in Las Vegas.
Robert had several favorite pastimes, especially traveling to Walt Disney properties in California and Florida. He loved taking cruises on Disney Lines. His favorite activities when not traveling were drawing and attending Star Trek conventions in Las Vegas. As an avid fan he collected Star Trek memorabilia and signed autographs of his favorite Star Trek stars. He was also a great movie buff, who could relate facts and plots of innumerous movies, including amassing a huge collection of videos.
Robert is preceded by his father, Haviland R. Alderman; and his mother, Helen Ludwig Alderman. Robert is survived by his sister, Lorraine Alderman Testa; his brother-in-law, James P. Testa; his nephew, James C. Testa and his wife, Rebecca, and their son, James A. Testa. A memorial service for Robert will be held July 15th at 2 pm at Green Valley Baptist Church at 270 N Valle Verde Drive, Henderson, Nevada.
