Renee, 

  Thanks for all the insight... on life, love, and POLITICS (especially the radical left) I can imagine you telling John all about it! I want to thank you for your inclusiveness, love, and warmth when our family met yours.. 
 I miss your wit, your strength, and most of all your strong presence. Your family and mine have been blessed to know and grow from such a beloved matriarch. I think its fair to say I didn't get enough time to pick your brain as it was one of the most brilliant minds I've ever encountered, truly.  GO YANKEES!

I met Renee’s  son, John, when we were 12 years old. Once John and I  found out that we were both born on the same day and same year we became great friends for life.  We followed each other through school, sports, and had mutual friends. With the majority of our social time being spent at the Caselli’s house, Renee, was a true matriarch to not just her family but myself and our stable of friends. Her influence, kindness, and guidance was intrinsic to me during my youth. Mrs. C,  as we called her, always was there to provide us with her incredible laughter, incredible Italian prepared food, and the understanding that we were all welcomed anytime. Mrs. C was without question my second mom. I love her beyond measurement and will dearly miss her! She’s with Mr. C now and that brings solace and a smile to my face.

Renee Caselli will always have a special place in my heart. She was a big part of my childhood and I have so many heartfelt memories of those days. She always allowed us kids, to be kids. She was our taxi driver to the Runnin' Rebels games, our summertime lifeguard, and our biggest fan of our Friday night variety shows. Just a few memories amongst many. She even escorted us, in her station wagon, to the drive in theater! Such a good woman, loyal wife, and amazing cook. To this day, I crave her linguini with clam sauce. Renee meant so much to me, that I even used her name as my eldest's middle name. I am so thankful to have known Renee, and thankful she was blessed with such a beautiful family and life. Rest in peace, Renee, your legacy lives on!



Mom tomorrow is Mother’s Day and we should be celebrating and honoring you in person, but unfortunately this is not the case this year, and every year thereafter. I am so grateful to God that you didn’t suffer and were with us at the end, but I’m angry that I can’t hear your voice, laugh with you, and most importantly -see and spend time with you. 

The outpouring of love and support since you left has been so very helpful and kind. You were loved by so many and will never be forgotten!

So tomorrow, for our first Mother’s Day without you, we will honor your memory by sharing our fondest memories of you and praising you for being the best Mom in the world!

Thank you for instilling strong family values  in all of us and for raising us to love one another and cherish family first and foremost.

Renee was one of the most kindest nicest people I’ve ever met she was always so friendly and so very funny for those who know her favorite word was not an appropriate  word however we loved her for saying it at all times I loved going to baseball games with her I loved how she flirted with my husband and my husband flirted with her I remember well I remember well her coming out of her bedroom screaming at us in her robe to shut up because she was trying to sleep and we were having a typical Caselli party one of my most fondest memories of my childhood was that one I loved her I miss her and I love her family they were such a strong family unit she will be missed

     I met Renee Caselli in 1978 as an 11 year old Little League baseball player. Her son Johnny and I were teammates. As an avid baseball (New York Yankess) fan, SHE was our number one fan and would let everyone know, including the umpires! 
     There isn't enough time or space for me to share how much she, and the entire Caselli family, has impacted my life. I have a lifetime of treasured memories from knowing her. She was the ultimate surrogate and always made me feel wanted and welcome at her home. 
     As I shared with her daughters Lisa and Toni, she is a priceless gem that has shined brightly for the world to see. I am very grateful I was able to be there to celebrate her birthday in August. I am also grateful I was able to  have lunch with her at Painted Desert's club house the day I left to come home.  We had a very candid and meaningful conversation. She was such a warm soul and I will dearly and greatly miss her...
     

Renee was a spirited,  intelligent  (sometimes opinionated) independent woman, and she was all those things in the quietness of ways. 

She had a calming, soft spoken way about her, a great beautiful smile, and a contagious laugh.... She was an honest and good friend.
Loyal wife,  loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother..

We so had so many good times, you were there for me in my toughest moments, I am so happy you were able to spend many years watching your beautiful family grow... You were always on my mind.

Grimmer (my husband) and I had the privilege of meeting Renee in May of 2019.  Lisa and Denny (my brother) brought her to Scottsdale AZ for a long weekend trip.  Of course a baseball game was involved. :-)  Renee was rather quick witted and could fit into any conversation.  I loved her "young" personality.  I am truly thankful that I can say I was  able to meet and enjoy Renee.   A beautiful lady, for sure!  My sincere condolences to the entire family!

Renee and I had a special connection from the first time we met, both being fast talking women from New York City. I'll never forget the Yankee game we went to together in Anaheim. She had a comment or criticism on every pitch and on every call. My boys just could not believe how well she knew baseball. When you spoke to Rene one thing that came across loud and clear was how very much she loved her children and grandchildren. You saw the pride in her eyes when she spoke about each of them. 
I feel fortunate to have known her, even though it was only for the last few years of her life. What a woman.
She lives on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
May her memory be a blessing.


You were hands down one of the funniest and most witty woman I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. You accepted me and my children into you’re family and always made us feel at home. My heart aches for your children- as saying goodbye to you was probably the hardest thing they’ll ever have to endure in their lifetime. But you’re now in heaven- shining down on us all- with the love of your life hand in hand. I promise whenever I see YOU in one of your children’s or grandchildren’s faces, I will smile and share the little moments of you that will live on in our family forever.

Renee was a fun-loving person that was extremely intelligent, but she never let on that she was. As her life was winding down, she was able to spend quality time with her family that she so loved and this made her very happy. 

I find myself more and more appreciative of her quirks and tendencies, but I am especially keenly aware and will always remember of how she handled her very last days. While in the hospital the decree came down that there were to be no visitors... for everyone's safety. She could have complained and cried "no fair" but held strong and even though the very closest to her wanted to see her, she didn't add to their worry. She strongly accepted her fate. 

She was a special person that will be deeply missed by many. I know watching baseball will never be the same. May you Rest In Peace Renee!
