TODAY I LAID TO REST MY FRIEND RAYMOND CRUZAN, RAY HAD BEEN MY FRIEND OVER 20 YEARS, GOOD MAN WHO WOULD OFFER HIS HELP IN ANY MATTER AT THE DROP OF A HAT, RAY WAS A CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL POLICE OFFICE, WHEN PATTY'S SON WAS BEING BULLIED AT SCHOOL I CALLED RAY FOR ADVISE ON HANDLING THE SITUATION, HIS ANSWER WAS "WHAT SCHOOL DOSE HE GO TO? I'LL MEET YOU THERE IN A HALF HOUR, RAY DROVE OUT OF HIS DISTRICT ON HIS LUNCH HOUR TO ASSIST PATRICIA, WHO HE HAD NEVER MET BEFORE, AND I IN OUR SITUATION, THOUGH THERE WASN'T MUCH HE COULD DO AS IT WASN'T A SCHOOL HE PATROLLED, HIS PRESENCES SENT THE MESSAGE THAT PATTY HAD A LITTLE JUICE, AND IN VEGAS JUICE IS EVERYTHING. RAY WAS A GOOD FATHER, GOOD SON AND JUST A GOOD PERSON, I LOVE YOU RAY AND YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED, REST WELL MY BROTHER, YOU'LL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

I've known Ray since junior high at St. Lawrence Academy.  He was always such a sweet, gentle soul. I remember five of us getting caught off campus during lunch and panicking as we all had to face the music with our Dean, Mrs. Harrell. Years later, during our 20th reunion, our classmates were all together, laughing and enjoying the evening and there was Ray, quietly watching the shenanigans, softly giving his take on the events. You were such a gem. I will miss you. May you rest easy and your children find peace.

There are no words. It's hard enough to lose someone as SPECIAL to me as Ray; but even harder that I can't be with  you today.  I  have many PRECIOUS memories of Ray that I hold in my heart.  Ray was my student at St. Lawrence Academy.  It has meant so much to me that we we were still in touch.  I recall his many kindnesses, his quick but always sincere smiles and his numerous friends. I also have very SPECIAL memories of his loving and supportive parents.  Please know that I am with you in spirit today. Ray will be missed.

Cousin Ray. You are so loved and will be missed by so many. Years of fond memories of all our family gatherings. Fun times around the pool in Vegas and gatherings in Montana and California. I will miss our telephone conversations and your smile and caring ways. I will pray each day for Lawrence and Margaux for strength to continue to make you so proud, as I know they will. Ray was one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met in elementary school and became fast friends along with another boy named Scott Border. I was fourteen when I got my first job at Foster Freeze and worked alongside Ray and Scott. They worked the grill while I took orders and worked the soda fountain. In middle school, our parents sent us to St. Lawrence Academy. We carpooled every day until we were old enough to drive ourselves. We remained good friends throughout highschool. After graduation, we moved away and started our own families. Throughout the years, my siblings and I would reminisce about growing up in Milpitas and Ray's name would inevitably be mentioned. Ray, you will always have a special place in my heart because you remind me of home, my youth, and true friendship! ❤

From our first date on April 29, 2017 to our last on October 29, 2020, you always made me smile.  Your kind and gentle soul can not be matched.  We were to meet up on Sunday, November 1st, but that day would never come.  Thank you for giving me hope. You gave me the gift of hope, prayer, and love.  The love you showed me and my family will never be forgotten.  I will miss you, our cruise trips to Mexico, and our daily conversations 💕 Until I see you again, Rest In Peace & Love. A big man who had a bigger heart. Ray was a generous man who would give you the shirt off his back to help out a friend in need. He would keep his friends on their toes with a hypothetical situation which really was a story about himself. He would come into a room and tell you what was on his mind whether you wanted to hear it or not. You will be missed my friend and I will see you on the other side.
