Ray D. Mack passed away on August 4, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ray was born on January 2, 1964 to Vesta L. Mack and Rudolph Miller in Oakland, California. Ray graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, CA. He was a former Merchant Marine who traveled to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War. He began his cooking career on the ship that fed crew. Ray was employed by Caesars Entertainment Corporation for 15 years, and his last hotel was the Linq Hotel where he worked as a cook as well. He had perfected the art of cooking that it became a passion, not an occupation. Ray was a quiet but talented man. He was a self-taught guitarist who appreciated the sounds of jazz. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan to say the least. He enjoyed playing tennis and riding his skateboard in his spare time. From childhood, Ray had become a collector of comic books and had a collection that made him proud. In addition, he was proud of his favorite 1973 Camaro Rallye Sport car. As it is written, Ray enjoyed a lot of things, but he loved spending time with his family. He adored his wife, Debra and cherished his relationship with his son, Herman for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Debra; supportive son, Herman, Jr; sisters, Deborah Greene, Maria Cormier, and Senin Mack; sister-in-law, LaRue Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, great, and great great nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Frank Crayton for all his support during our time of need, and a special thanks of appreciation to Dr. Nav Sharda and his staff at the Cancer Care Center, Dr. Nutan Parikh and his staff at the Las Vegas Cancer Center and the Oncology Department at Sunrise Hospital. Ray requested no services to be held.
