Michael was a man with an extreme work ethic and impeccable focus. At a very early age, he moved to Las Vegas, where he graduated from Valley High School. He took up employment at Caesar’s Palace, where he was able to meet Dean Martin, Willie Nelson, and Cher, just to name a few, even getting to play darts with Tom Jones in his hotel room! All of these celebrities visiting Vegas came to know and call him Micki. Frank Sinatra would personally call Mike before traveling to Vegas because he trusted no one more to ensure that everything went to plan.
Michael eventually moved on to the booming construction business, where he worked as the head safety officer for American Asphalt for 23 years. Afterward, he took on a job at Bishop Gorman and for the Diocese of Las Vegas. While at Gorman, Michael was able to watch his children go through school and be able to work with his wife, who also worked at the school.
It was very rare to not see Mike at any of his children’s sporting events, from soccer and dance to football and cheerleading; he was always on the sideline offering unwavering support. Time and time again, he was always there to help them achieve their goals and strive to be the best that they could be in whatever they pursued.
Michael can only be described as a hard-working family man who always stepped forward to tackle life’s challenges head-on. He had such an unshakable constitution that is simply not seen nowadays. His friends would describe him as being extremely loyal, loving and steadfast. Mike is also remembered for his sarcastic nature and exceptional sense of humor. All together, Mike was a total badass.
Michael was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia in 2016, starting a long journey for him and his family. This journey finally came to an end on September 3, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
