Nicholas Scott Thompson aged 42, died May 8, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. Nick was born at the United States Naval Hospital Okinawa in Japan, and afterwards lived in both the Philippines and Hawaii. To no one’s surprise, Nick learned to swim at an early age and especially loved time at the beach. Ultimately, he moved to and settled in Las Vegas.
Nick loved the game of knights, bishops, pawns, rooks--he was a chess enthusiast who played with passion, grace, and a winning strategy. Other favorite pastimes included family get-togethers and treasuring the time spent with his son.
Nick’s passing was unexpected, especially at his young age, and it will lead a huge void in the lives of many. Nick’s death is preceded by his grandparents Emma, Bill, Mary, and John. He is survived by his son Ocean, parents Betty and Rick, sisters Pamela and Danielle, nephew Jackson, nieces Bella and Emma, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private burial service is scheduled May 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery in Las Vegas.
