Nelida "Nellie" Rodriguez was born on June 5, 1988 at Santa Ana Medical Hospital in Santa Ana, California. She was the daughter of Raul and Maria Rodriguez. Nellie was raised in San Bernardino, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Nellie was raised with three siblings. She had an older sister, Myra a younger brother, Junior and a little sister, Marisa. Nellie was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life’s possibilities, traits that made her an exceptional worker. Her primary occupation was an Ophthalmic Assistant. She was employed for four years at the Shepherd Eye Center. Nellie was enterprising, inventive and working against deadlines seemed to energize her. Nellie was a woman who was dedicated and devoted to her faith. She was a member at St. Christopher's Catholic Church for 19 years. She was sympathetic and able to empathize with others and she used these qualities to the fullest while working tirelessly for her beliefs. Nellie was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Bruno, a Boxer, was her best friend for 2 years. Her family was rounded out by her Chihuahua, Kaiser, Rufus, a gerbil and Thumper, her rabbit. Nellie Rodriguez passed away on September 16, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She fought a brave battle against Lupus. She is survived by her parents, Raul and Maria Rodriguez, her siblings, Myra, Raul Jr., and Marisa. Services were held at St. Christopher's Catholic Church. Nellie was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery, Las Vegas, Nevada. Like her favorite quote said, "She lived life to the fullest!" and she will always be "Our Little Warrior"
