Michelle Renea Douglas was born at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Silver Springs, Montgomery County Maryland on August 12, 1980. She entered into Heaven’s gates on May 24, 2017 at the age of 36. A beloved daughter with a selfless heart, Michelle had a passion for caring for others. Free spirited, gifted and talented in so many facets, she lived her life following her passions and demonstrating to others how to embrace the beauty of life. Michelle attended elementary and junior high school in Las Vegas and graduated from Lawton Senior High School in Lawton, Oklahoma. Michelle moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999 where she attended UNLV. During that time, she was also a cocktail server for Hooters and Mandalay Bay. In 2005, Michelle became an opening team member of the Wynn Las Vegas. Michelle was employed for over 12 years as Cocktail Server/Model having received many Certificates of Merit and was recognized as a STAR employee for her outstanding job performance and her ability to always go above and beyond to service her guests and assist her co-workers. In addition to her full-time employment, Michelle led several community volunteering efforts and was most recently named Coach of the Year by National Youth Sports for the six soccer teams that she supported as a coach. Through her tireless dedication and determination, Michelle was an inspiration and a constant reminder of hope and love. She was and will forever be respected and admired for her endless contributions as she had touched the lives of many. As such, May 31st has been proclaimed “Michelle Douglas Day” by the County Commissioner. Michelle will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Michelle is survived by her parents, Mike and Murlyn; her grandfather, Clarence; aunts, Myrtle and Angie; seven uncles, and several cousins. A “Life Well Celebrated” memorial service will be held in her honor on Thursday, June 8th at 1:00pm at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89146.
