Michael Imas, at the age of 76, has finished the long journey he started on August 6th, 1947. His journey began in the Soviet Union, in the city of Moldova. He was first a project manager in construction and later became a mechanical engineer to feed his family after relocating from the Soviet Union to Detroit, Michigan.
He graduated with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and it was one of his proudest achievements. From his early years he was an amateur boxer in the Soviet Union and was always physically fit since exercising was the foundation of his being. Michael was also highly educated and extremely well read and expected nothing less from his children. He had to travel across the world for his job at Chrysler and therefore developed a passion for travel, especially with Bella, his wife.
His wife was his everything. Michael fell in love hard and loved her with everything he had, because she gave him everything. She gave him two very successful and independent children, and any other want and need. They were inseparable and loved each other fiercely. He was a dedicated husband, a hard-working provider, who always put his family above everything else. Michael set the bar high for his children and provided them an opportunity to carry on his legacy. He had an amazing sense of humor, and was loved by all who knew him, once they earned his respect.
Michael was a die-hard Red Wings fan, that later turned into a Vegas Golden Knights passion once he retired to Henderson, Nevada. He loved watching football games with his daughter, bending an ear with politics, history, or geography. Michael loved a good drink, a hearty laugh, defying age, and being around friends and family. He never stopped being stubborn, fighting his disease until the very end.
Michael is survived by his wife Bella; son Alex (Elin); daughter Jessica; grandchildren Zoe, Maddie, and Kylie; his furry grandpet Milo; sister Raisa (Felix); nephews Michael (Betsy), and Arthur (Amy); nieces Erica (Jeff), and Ann; brother-in-law Gregory; and many other relatives too numerous to name.
Graveside services will be held, and live streamed at 1100 AM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at King David Cemetery 2697 East Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120 officiated by Cantor Jessica Hutchings.
