To Bob, Jackie, Brian, and Becky, I am deeply sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. To Joanne and other loved ones, my condolences extend to you as well. As I processed the news so many great memories with Matt flooded my mind (I wish I could share them all). Throughout high school we had so many laughs and so many times that I am genuinely thankful for through sports, parties, concerts, camping trips, pranks, road trips, even great conversations. It wasn't until now that I have stopped to appreciate the extent of Matt's impact on me. Indeed, Matt was the king jokester and a master storyteller but it wasn't all that he was. Matt was truly a loyal friend and an excellent judge of character. Matt, you greatly enriched my life and pushed me to bigger pursuits. I thank you for being an excellent friend and I grieve your loss. You squeezed more out of life in 37 years than most people get with 100. I know that your legacy still lives in me and in all the people that you touched.

Schmitty, 25 years ago we would have run into each other virtually every day running around the old neighborhood. Seeing a lot old familiar names on this guestbook reminds me of the great childhood you and all of us had. Rest in peace.

Matt was such a nice guy! We used to talk about Wisconsin and the Packers, we was a fellow "cheesehead". My deepest condolences to Joanne and Matt's family. He will surely be missed.

Matt and I were close friends in high school and shared a dorm together our first year of college.  Often it was myself, Schmitty and Shorty hanging out on the weekends in high school. Matt was great person and we had a lot of fun together, most notably several Jimmy Buffett concerts,our trip after high school to the boundry waters of Canada, and ski trip to Lutzen Mountain in MN. Those memories will live on for me. Matt lived life to the fullest and his humor was infectous.  My sincerest condolences to Jackie, Bob, Becky, Brian and the entire family. Rest in peace Schmitty.

Schmitty you and I shared some great times together growing up. You where my closest friend during our teenage years and into our 20s.The Jimmy buffet concerts are still some of my greatest memories. A true light was lost in our family this last week. Matt, you brought happiness, comedy and friendship to all that knew you. You were there when needed. I am grateful to have spent the last few days of your journey with you and some of our Caesars family in Wine country. It was truly a time I will never forget. The last night of your journey, we all shared a moment together at a party and it was wonderful. The last gift you gave us was the chance for all of our family to come together to laugh, cry, and remember you. It brought us all closer and reminded us of how important life is and how truly important our friendships are. You and will always be apart of that family here on earth. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the time we spent in Springdale Estates. Whether it was swimming in the pool, playing street hockey, or running through the woods. We shared plenty of fond memories of which I will always cherish. Rest in peace.

Matt you always made me feel welcome from the first time I met you. You always had a smile on your face and greeted me with a hug telling me how happy you were Chad and I came out to see you. Rest in peace we miss you our Vegas trips will never be the same without you. I will never forget going to red rock and with you and Wilda, you and Chad playing penny slots hitting the machine waiting for your next win.

Schmitty we met freshman year of college and instantly we became friends. We roomed together for 2 years and had some amazing times together. You have always been an amazing friend and it kills me that you were taken so soon from us. We had many great memories when I came to visit you in Vegas and I will always remember those phone calls. You always made me laugh and how can we forget those damn penny slots but we always seem to win. RIP my friend I will never forget the great times we had together.

Bob,Jackie,Brian and Becky...I had to look at all the pictures 3 or 4 times before I wrote.  I laughed and cried and was so thankful for all the younger pictures of Matt included.  That is always how I remembered him.  He never really grew up...it was always just him and Justin like 8 years old-cutest little boys in the world... like two peas in a pod.  Whether it was up north, at your swimming pool, playing soccer in the cul de sac or in Florida. Always a smile on his face when he was little and from the pictures I can tell that never changed.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope your hearts mend and you can celebrate all the wonderful memories you have of your son and brother.

Matt, you will always be remembered in a way that will ultimately make us smile and laugh. Everyone wanted to be around you, we knew there would be mischievousness going on when we worked with you or watching you play crazy eights. But that's what made you Matt and the Matt we loved. You would always give us a good laugh. I will miss your sense of humor, your laugh and your giggle. Rest in peace, friend. Matt a true gentleman we had the pleasure of meeting. The lovely smile and a heart of gold that you shared with everyone especially Joanne. Prior to my retirement and I was sick of going into work, the one person to have in my section to change the day was Matt. Always had a great smile on his handsome face and we could kibitz all day, me knowing he could handle any game he was on like the sharp professional he was. Away from work a class man always enjoying life. He will be missed by many and left us way too soon. I hope Joann can come to terms with this soon and move on in life and be happy for what time she had with Matt. RIP Buddy!
