Mary L. Sparrow, 82, died September 11, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born June 21, 1937, in Cedar City, Utah, the daughter of Olene and Rachel (Robinson) Davis. Mary grew up in Cedar City and after graduating from Cedar High School in the 1950s, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She met James (Jim) Robert Sparrow and they later married on October 14, 1956. Mary and Jim adopted three children, John in January of 1965, Tom in December of 1967, and Mary Beth in March of 1972. Mary was very active as a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church and Foothills Baptist Church. She was the church secretary for many years at Twin Lakes and worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for Kessler and Sons Music.
Mary was an avid bowler until the late 80s and was also secretary for the 600 Club for bowling. She enjoyed walking around the mall when she was able and in recent years, developed a deep love of Krispy Kreme donuts. Her love for her friends and family was endless. She was very loyal, giving and had the best laugh and smile. She doted on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, John, sister Barbara and brothers Carlyle, Lloyd and Gary. She leaves behind her loving husband James Robert Sparrow, her son Thomas and his fiance Mariea Young; her daughter, Mary Beth Kellermann and her husband Steve; three grandchildren, Daniel Coultas, Stephanie Sparrow and Chase Kellermann; two great grandchildren, Johnathon Bard and Elizabeth Bard; and many other cherished family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 11am Thursday, September 19 at Foothills Baptist Church, 6405 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89108.
