Marvin F. Phillips, Jr. passed away on Monday, June 26. He was 69 years old. Marvin was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 25, 1953, the son of Marvin F. Sr. and Ruth Geneve Phillips, and was a graduate of Topeka High School.
He owned BES Consultants in Topeka. He married Beth on August 14, 1994 and they lived in Overland Park, Kansas. He sold his business in 2003 and they retired to Las Vegas, Nevada and then Henderson, Nevada. Marvin was a private pilot and enjoyed learning to fly a glider plane. He was active in the Civil Air Patrol as a 1st Lieutenant.
Survivors include his wife Rosetta (Beth); his sons, Andrew Phillips and Benjamin Phillips of Topeka; his daughter, Mendy Phillips of Henderson, Nevada;
grandchildren Kaylin, Caley, and Kyle Phillips; and a sister, Joann Boyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Rose Bramblett and Velma Wells.
A celebration of life will be held in the Oakland Presbyterian Church in Topeka, Kansas in November.
