Martha Villela born March 4, 1940, and was the daughter of Lazaro and Lucita Flores. Martha was raised in Parrilla, Durango, MX. During her childhood she learned to be reliable and respectful. Martha was an obedient child who wanted to win the favor of others. She found it easy to show sympathy and to perform kind acts for others. These admirable qualities would become a part of Martha's personality throughout her life. Martha was raised with four siblings. She had Imelda, Guillermo, Reyme, and Jose. Martha and her siblings had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another. Martha was blessed with four children, Three sons, Gerardo, Jaime and Javier, and one daughter, Martha. Martha also helped raise a very dear niece, Lucy Rojas, who is the daughter of her sister, Imelda Flores. Lucy and her family now reside in Yuma, Arizona. Martha maintained a very close and loving relationship with Lucy throughout her life. The same could be said about another niece, Lucila Flores, who is the daughter of her brother, Guillermo Flores. “Nena” as she is called by the family, spent time with Martha’s family as a young woman. Martha was an excellent cook. Her family always looked forward to everything she prepared. Her family’s favorites included everything from her tasty meatloaf and scalloped potatoes dish to her annual Thanksgiving dinners which included everyone’s favorite (and very delicious) stuffing. She took pride in her cooking and enjoyed the compliments that were given to her by her family and anyone that was fortunate enough to partake of one of her meals. Martha passed away on August 24, 2012 at St. Rose, San Martin Campus. Martha suffered a heart attack during surgery. She is survived by her husband Jesus Villela, children, Jerry, Marty, Jim and Javier. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary.
