Marsha (Marti) was born in Casey, Illinois on April 14, 1944. She moved with her parents, Carl and Rosemary, and her siblings, Kay and Mike, to St. Louis, Missouri. Marti graduated from Berkley High School in 1962.
Marti and Robert (Bob) were married in 1966. Together they raised two children, Stephen and Jennifer. Marti and Bob spent 55 wonderful, loving years together.
Marti was a stay at home mom who was actively involved in Steve and Jennifer’s lives. She was a coach's wife, a proud wrestling mom, and nurtured and encouraged all of Jennifer’s art activities.
Later, Marti became a home day care provider. Starting with her niece, Kristen, and her nephew, Sean. Marti raised over ten children. She was kind, compassionate and had a special bond with each of the children in her care.
Marti took great pride in caring for and being with her grandchildren - Keaton, Evan, Leah, Morgan, Reagan, and Josslyn. She also was very excited and looked forward to adding another grandson due in May 2022. She loved to spend hours playing with them when they were young and attending their sporting events when they were older. FaceTiming her grandkids was her most recent favorite pastime.
Marti’s life centered around her family - it was her pride and joy. She loved talking to her sister, Kay, and brother, Mike, and spending time with her sisters-in-law, Pat and Ann. She also had a very special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Thai, and daughter-in-law, Julie. Marti enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, and traveling with her family before she came ill.
Marti is survived by her husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her brother, Michael McCandlish, of St. Louis, Missouri. Her son, Steve Blanner (Julie) of Las Vegas, Nevada and daughter, Jennifer La (Thai) of Erie, Colorado.
