Marlon was the kindest person that people will only request him to make their drinks. They felt his kindness and heart that made their way. Miss him dearly. 

From San Jose to San Francisco in the mid-80's, I remember you always as a young toddler running around. Your rosey fat cheeks, which Auntie Lili adored...Exploring all over the restaurant...you were always full of spirit and always had an open eye for curiosity. I love you so much and my heart hit rock bottom,  when I heard of your sudden passing, since you were taken away from us so soon. We wanted to create more memories with you and the rest of our HUGE Ohana/Familia from Hawaii. Grieving is very sad 😥 and I hope that you will always remember that Auntie Lili & Uncle KK, along with Cousins Brooke & Bruce  LOVE you very much. A HUI HOU, my dear Nephew, Marlon JR.. May you Rest in Paradise and be ready to greet us with your OPEN ARMS one day.

Words cannot express how I felt upon hearing the sudden news, especially since the whole family had planned a Garcia ohana reunion and I was about to see Kuya JR soon. As I reflected on my time spent with Kuya JR, I remembered when I visited Las Vegas in 2016. As a 16 year old, there wasn't much I could do as my grandparents and uncles and aunties were playing in the casinos. It was a good thing that JR, Marlene, and Madeliene were there to keep me company. We went to the M&M store, the T-Mobile Arena, Sonic for milkshakes, rode the High Roller, and explored Circus Circus. I also remember that there was a weird guy following us at Circus Circus and, as the eldest of the group, JR was very observant of our surroundings and safely guided us back to the car. In that moment, Kuya JR demonstrated his older brother characteristics, in which he valued our safety and safely guided us back to the car.  Kuya, I am very grateful for your thoughtful actions and words, and I appreciate your compassionate personality. To Auntie Edith, Uncle Marlon, Marlene, and Madeliene, I am here for you always. I love you.

Words are not enough to express how deeply hurt of your passing. The family is lost without you but I know you will always be there by their side.  

Whenever I visit here in Viva Las Vegas you were always there to pick me and Uncle Elmer up at the airport with your Dad.  How I will miss those days now when you will greet me with “Hi Auntie (with that great smile), welcome again.” I loved going to the different restaurants you introduced us to and after dinner, though we are so full, we go and get Boba! 

You were such a loving kuya to your two wonderful sisters but most especially a loving son to your Mom and Dad! You had such a humble heart and I will truly miss you! As one of the Elders on your congregation you were very well respected and had touched so many hearts! When invited to join a seminar and was asked to be a speaker, you never hesitated. You had an excellent customer service in working at Starbucks, always smiling! 

We, the Pagaragan Ohana, will truly miss such a loving, kind, and handsome nephew/cousin/uncle of ours! You will always be forever in our hearts.

JR, I will sorely miss you and still can't believe you are gone. 

You were the first to introduce me to Starbucks and Frappuccinos and our many trips to LA and San Diego are memories I wont forget. 

Even though I moved away you've always been an example of a man and a spiritual brother that I respect and encouraged me. I'll see you again soon my friend. 

JR, you were one of my cousins that always checked up on from me time to time whether was to react to my post on my stories that I posted on Social media or just having a conversation. You never judged me when I talked to you and we would just laugh, which was very contagious. We would always started or ended our convo saying “love you cuz” or “miss you cuz” or “we need to go to Disneyland”. 

You were one of the few cousins that was a Disney fanatic like me, going to Disney, collecting anything Disney, especially Disney pins. I admired your Disney pin board because you had a lot and I was just getting started haha. We always talked about wanting to go together to Disneyland one day.... & I’m sorry we didn’t have the chance to go, and that alone breaks my heart. But when i do go, i know you will be there with me but in spirit..

I’ll never forget the time, you and your sisters brought Niki & I and my sister around Vegas; going to the highroller, trying out this cute Asian tea place to get honey toast😋, going to hotels and taking pictures because it was Christmas time and just staying out till past 3:00am lol. I’ll never forget all the laughs we all shared that night because we laughed so hard we were in tears and our tummy’s were so sore haha. 

I’ll also never forget when we came over for dinner and you asked my sis and I if we tasted the mini blue bunny chocolate dipped ice cream cone. And you gave my sis and i one and we were all eating it together. You asked us if we wanted another but we were full but you said which I’ll never forget; “but that’s like eating a snack it’s just not enough, you need to eat another to satisfy your tummy”. You made my sis & i laugh so hard that night. 
I’ll never forget the memories we shared in person & on social media because you lived in Vegas. I love you & I miss you very much... Gone too soon, rest in love my cousin J.R.❤️🕊

The day I asked you to be part of Rayna and I wedding entourage you were so happy and honored that said Yes with excitement. Now that your gone my heart is shattered and all my emotions are crashing down. You were so kind and always caring for everyone and anyone. I’m gonna miss you so much. I’m gonna miss your laughter and smile. You always wanted to have a good time and just love to have fun and be adventurous.  Jr, you are no longer suffering rest in love cousin. In our hearts you occupy a place, no one else can fill kuya JR. Your unconditional amount of love, your sweet soothing voice, your big smile that passes from ear to ear are forever imprinted on our minds, the amount of food places you take my siblings and I whenever we visit the family in Vegas.. I miss us all being together back at the Stockton house just bonding. 6 days passed and it finally hit me that you are no longer here anymore .. I remember a time when you told me to learn our dialect to understand you and I said, "ha. Yeah right” Here I am, fluent. You are my role model and I grew up to follow your manners and respect. I am no longer silent and shy, but outgoing and strong just like you kuya .. We love you so much. Until we meet again po.

Dearest Jr,

No words can express the pain and emptiness I am feeling without you. Just the thought of having family gatherings without is already very difficult to swallow…. Our last memory together we had our family dinner talking about food to how your parents met…. Your mom - aunty Edith’s never ending story of Joseph ( my brother) being the only nephew she has carried and taken care of…. To talking about our grandparents to our plans to have our cousins paint night ….  Then we went out for some boba and you treated us….. cousin I still can hear your voice calling me ate Josephine….. your warm and loving presence is something I wish the world could have felt when ever u are around…. You truly have a golden heart to say the least…. You made everyone feel welcomed even if it was your very first time meeting them! 

Cousin…. I may not be able to make sense as to why you left us so soon but what I do know Is that you must be at peace and by now you have reunited with our grandparents ….. singing and dancing in heaven! One day I know that I will see you again….. when that time comes we will continue our paint nights and feast until our tummy desires….. meanwhile cousin….. know that I missing dearly and that I find peace in knowing you are in heaven…. Please give the biggest hugs to grandma and grandpa for me….

This photo was from a time when my parents and I visited Vegas when I was in college. This was the day I learned we were born on the same day and I was so happy that we could share that. I have always looked up to your bright spirit.

I began working as a Starbucks barista in Seattle and we later had the chance to bond over our experiences working there as well. I have always enjoyed viewing your foodie adventures. They brought a big smile to my face.

You were always so positive, loving and supportive. My heart aches that I never got a chance to hug you goodbye. I send my deepest condolences to your sisters, mom, and dad. It was an honor to be your cousin.

For as long as we can remember, there were a handful of things that truly separated Kuya JR from any person you would ever meet in your life. No words can describe how special of a person he truly is.

Growing up, there was such a beautiful and inviting aura that surrounded him. Every room he was in, he kept it lively and lit up with smiles and laughter. When he spoke, there was a softness unlike any other's. However, with that softness, there was strength and confidence. His smile was radiant and infectious, and his kindness and love were felt wherever he was present. Kuya JR had a natural charm that made anyone feel comfortable and safe. My mom, Tita Carmela, would always tell us how much she admired how respectful, loving, and charming he was. My mom always described him as a perfect role model growing up, and that we should follow his example. Though many miles away, and even while growing up walking our separate lives, he never failed to remind us that love knows no distance. He proved to us that no matter what, family was family, and nothing in this world can change that. We love you Kuya JR, and we love the Garcia family with all of our hearts. Kuya JR will be missed very dearly, and we will never lose sight of the imprint he left on our lives. All of you are in our prayers, and never forget that we are here if you need us, in the same way Kuya JR was always there for us.

The Candies from Bellagio  and although Ate Edith would be at work JR brought them before I went home . I can just see his smile and his kind manner .
