Marianne Johnson, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the age of 86. She was born June 25, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Morris and Mary Jensen. After living in Southern California for many years, she moved to Las Vegas in 1975 where she began her career with the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, managing the coffee shop. She moved on to the Mirage Hotel & Casino when it opened in 1989, managing both the coffee shop and the buffet. She worked at Wynn Las Vegas until she retired in 2008. She loved her work and her employees, coworkers, and customers, all of whom became like a second family to her. She was affectionately known as “Mom” to so many and loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed travelling and spending time visiting with her friends and neighbors at Tapatio. She loved her family dearly. She was an amazing Mom, Mother-in-Law, and Grandma. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Jensen, Dick Jensen, Morris Jr. Jensen, and Joe Jensen; and sisters, Evelyn Shuput, Eleanor Otos, and Marge Sabaliauskus. She is survived by her sister, Joanne McGlade, her sons, Erik Johnson of Tok, Alaska, Dale Johnson (Genie) of Las Vegas, and Chris Eierman (Sheryl) and her beloved grandsons, Scott and Eric, of Las Vegas. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.
