Margaret Elizabeth Welch, 94, a retired secretary with the Chicago Sun-Times, of North Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. She was born May 16, 1917 in Onaroa, Ill. She married Dale Wright and had a daughter, Patricia. She married Bernard E. Spaulding and had three children, Joan Hargett, Dona Brown, and John Spaulding. She married Edward Welch (widowed). She was a founding member of Irish American Club, International Food and Forklift Festival, and was three times president of St. Jude's Woman Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by Dale Wright, Bernard Spaulding, Edward Welch, Joan Hargett, Faun Miller. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Erven, Dona Brown; son, John Spaulding; grandchildren, Gregery Erven, Bradley Erven, Heather St. John, Michelle Disney, Robert Beck III, Dana Lord; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 8:30-11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, followed by services, at Palm Mortuary-Downtown, 1325 N. Main St. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
