Lonnie Dale Ellis

Lonnie Dale Ellis, age 77, passed away surrounded by family on February 16th, 2023. Lonnie was born in Elmo, MO on October 2nd, 1945, to Halley “Shorty” Ellis and Elsie Watson. Lonnie joined the Marines November of 1964 and later the Army. He served in the United States and Germany. In Germany, he met the love of his life, Maria Luisa. They were married on Valentine's Day, 1988. He retired from the Army in 1992 and finally settled in Las Vegas, NV.

Lonnie loved old movies, cooking, carpentry, shopping at Harbor Freight, and cracking silly jokes.

Lonnie is survived by his sister Marilyn Sage (Richard), brothers Randy and Denny (Robin); son Lonnie Dale Ellis (Sarah), step children Bernadette Talosig, Eva Acac (Ben), Ariel Talosig (Catherine), and Allen Talosig. 8 grandchildren; Bernadin Jacques, Bernice Monique, Bevan Acac Marsh (Mario) Marybeth Acac, Marielle Acac, Lucas Ellis, Ariana Ellis, Solomon Ellis; and 3 great grandchildren; Peter, Peyton, and Kobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, “Butch” and his wife, Maria Luisa.

A visitation will be held at the Palm Eastern Mortuary on Thursday, March 16 from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral will held in the Palm Eastern Mortuary, at 9:30am on Friday, March 17th. Burial will follow with military honors 12:00-12:40 at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery: 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City NV 89005.
