My "Papa," I recently just saw how the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is hosting the Bullring event. I remember going with you and Uncle to these events during this time in the summer. I miss those days. I remember waking up to go the races and it last until midnight or later just watching the races. Sometimes it felt like forever watching them go around the track 400 times until it ended but what you take for granted in your younger years seems to hit you harder later. It was a love/hate relationship having to wake up and go to the tracks but I wouldn't change a second of it. I remember when grandma would have dinner on the table and the house open with the screen doors calling you guys into eat. If you didn't hear her she would send us after you. Those days were the best that's what I grew up knowing. The men working on the cars the women around the table talking and waiting for you. No different than the P.I. trip we took. A tad different, it was weird not seeing you work on the buggies there but it was nice cherishing the times you didn't have to work. I remember you and your lunchbox, grandma would pack for you working at the Charleston auto parts store. Those moments were short lived because you retired shortly within a few years. I'll cherish the times we would run up and sit on you in your rocking chair. You always had a rocking chair. I loved it made me fall asleep quicker than anything. You were always so humble, didn't say much unless you were on the road lol. Going to Washington to grab uncle Cecil's car and the adults kept switching off driving you guys would fart in the car with us and think it was the funniest thing. I swear this is where I became to hate farting in the car 😏😊 still puts a smile on my face though. Life won't be the same without you but I'm glad grandma got to meet you at the gate. I can only imagine the greeting but I have a great picture in my head. I love you so much and thank you for this wonderful life you have given us all. I love yo

My papa was the best there is. He was also so nice, so loving, and always smiling. He loved to crack jokes and play pranks on others. I always remember when I would go over to mow his lawn for him and no matter how many times I told him to go inside he wouldn’t. Or all the times we sat down and he used to tell me stories about his childhood. That was one of my most favorite things was hearing about all of his wild stories, he had some pretty good ones! We all miss you very much papa, and we all love you very much! Watch over us now please, we will meet again in Heaven. 

Our Dad was unique. Always the prankster, all he ever wanted was for us to laugh, be happy and have a good time. He loved all of us with all of his heart as much as we loved him in return. I will forever miss our time together and his stories of his rebel years with his cousins, Sonny and Socky from Sacramento. He was the best Dad we kids could've asked for. He didn't have a father figure in his own life, but he didn't need one; he did a fine job without that role model. He & our brother, Bill, worked together to refine engine rebuilding when Bill was young. This is something Bill still does today alongside his own son, Andrew. There wasn't much around the house that broke that Dad couldn't repair himself. He was always making things or tinkering with things as was evidenced on the day that we found him. We found him with a drill in his hand and an extension cord plugged into the outlet - ready to work on something, but it was time to go....to go to his forever home. So long Daddy.
