Larry Fodor passed away peacefully on January 9, 2017. He was born on September 21, 1948 as Stephen Lawrence Fodor, but his family and friends all knew him as Larry. Larry was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he became the owner/operator of the Silver Dollar Saloon in Downtown Phoenix at the age of 23. He attended college classes in Marketing and Real Estate and discovered his real passion. He began his Real Estate career in 1977 as a new home Sales Agent. He soon showed his marketing acumen and was promoted to Sales Manager and obtained his Real Estate Broker’s license. He worked for several home builders and developers in Phoenix as Sales & Marketing Manager and Broker of Record. Starting in 1989, Larry continued his Real Estate and sales/marketing career in Las Vegas, NV, with Westar Development, Falcon Homes, Beazer Homes, Avante Homes and Pageantry Communities in positions ranging from Sales Manager to VP of Sales and Marketing. He also spent time consulting in commercial and land sales both in Phoenix and Las Vegas. He was President of Pageantry Communities Phoenix Division from 2006 through 2008. Larry was a dual broker in Nevada – as sole proprietor of SLF Realty Group and for Imagine NV Realty, LLC. Most recently, he has been the designated broker and a consultant to Summit Communities. During his career, he won numerous MAME, HOMER, SMC, and ADDY awards. Although his ability to think “outside of the box” to design marketing campaigns and sales strategies was extraordinary, everyone who knew him will best remember him for his relentless drive for perfection and disarming charm. Larry had the ability to make everyone that he was around feel special. He will be missed by all who knew him. Larry was a voracious reader of news and real estate industry information which he frequently passed along to those he thought would be interested. He also enjoyed action/adventure fiction. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life and he rarely missed a chance to brag. He was a formidable opponent on a pool table and enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nancy; his daughter, Sharon Connolly and her husband, Steve of Peoria, AZ; his son, Larry Fodor of Cheyenne, WY; stepdaughter, Suzanne Hudson; stepson, Mike Hudson, Jr. and his wife, Brittney; five grandchildren, and many close friends and associates.
