

Kevin Allen Spivey, 61, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on June 14, 2023 at Royal Springs Health Care and Rehab. Born in Chicago, IL on October 31,1961 to Kenneth C. and Rosemary Spivey. Moved to Las Vegas in 1978 and graduated in 1980 from Helen J. Stewart. He went to work at Opportunity Village and remained there for 40 years.
Kevin competed in the Special Olympics for 50 years starting at the age of 7, accumulating more than a hundred trophies and medals. He participated in track and field, disc throw, swimming, baseball, basketball, gymnastics and bowling, taking the gold medal in the International Games in 1983 in Baton Rouge.
He loved wrestling, Chicago Cubs, basketball, hockey and Rock and Roll, especially Kiss and Elvis. He wore his Chicago Cubs jacket until it wore out. He was chosen as a representative for Opportunity Village and was featured on many billboards and advertisements over the years. He was also chosen to throw the first pitch for the Las Vegas Stars in the 1980's.
He is survived by Rosemary Spivey (mother), Kenneth A. Spivey (brother), wife, Cindy, Karen A. Rowland (sister), husband, Craig, 4 nieces, April, Jennifer, Tonya and Erica, 1 nephew, Christopher and 10 great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by Kenneth C. Spivey (father), George and Grace Truppo and Shurburn and Clare Spivey (grandparents) and Anthony Truppo (uncle).
Visitation will be June 22, 2023 from 3-6pm at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada with services immediately after from 6-7pm.
Burial will be July 3, 2023 at 10:40am at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
