Kenneth C. Lemke, age 82, passed away on August 25, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and has been a resident of Buffalo Wyoming since the mid 90’s while being a snow bird in Las Vegas. He has been part of the Las Vegas area for the past 57 years. He graduated from Las Vegas High in the mid 50’s. Ken served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 8 years, and was fortunate to not have been deployed during the Vietnam War. Part of his work experience included working at the test site during the era of above ground nuclear testing. In 1960 he became a Firefighter for Clark County for over 30 years until he retired in 1989. In his spare time, he liked to ride his trike, drive his corvette, take the motorhome around the country, was a gun enthusiast, and a ham radio operator, played video poker, and enjoyed the Reno air races for 43 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Janet S. Lemke; stepdaughters, Shawna O’Callahan and Leslie Ann Darling; and his grandchildren, Breanna Darling, Christina Darling, Nathan Fleshman, Megan Fleshman, Dillon Darling, and Tyler O’Callahan. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 beginning at 9am with Funeral Service at 11am all at Historic Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Interment will follow at Historic Palm Downtown Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in his honor to the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation in lieu of flowers.
