Kenneth P. Larkin, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away at home with family by his side on April 20, 2014. He was born in Hazel Green, WI on August 22, 1924 and was a Las Vegas resident since 1965. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a civil and mining engineer and retired from the Nevada Test Site. A longtime member of Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church and member of the VFW, he was an avid fisherman and lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary K. Larkin; his sisters, Kathleen Larkin, Mary Jane Haase, Geraldine Vosberg, Bernice Larkin, and Shirley Feldman; and his brothers, Norman, Eugene, Leonard and Ronald Larkin. He is survived by his sons, Terry and John Larkin; his daughters, Lynn Larkin, Pat (Steve) Kuntz, Cathy Friedli, Phyllis Armstrong and Kim (Bob) Salisbury; his brother, Pat Larkin; his grandchildren, Dan and Brad Ward, Erin Lenser, Kristin Friedli, Justin and Kendra Larkin and Katie and Kelly Kuntz; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Baylee, Madison and Alex Ward, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be at 11AM on Saturday, April 26 at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123 with private interment to follow. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
