Karl Kay Womack

We bid farewell to Air Force veteran & IBM engineer Karl Kay Womack of Las Vegas, Nevada, who departed on July 10, 2024, at the age of 90. Karl is survived by his son Brian David Womack and daughter Kimberly Athena Womack, both who support defense for the Navy and Air Force. His daughter in-law Dana, wife of Brian, have two grandchildren Samantha and Troy, also pursuing engineering careers. Karl was a gentle soul with a spark of curiosity that fed his technological passion, making him proud of his offspring in their pursuit of technical careers that he enabled from his life-long work at IBM, creating the first computers of the modern age. Karl was an avid sci-fi and fantasy reader, loved romantic comedies, country music festivals, and world travel. In the quiet moments of reflection, let us honor Karl’s memory by embracing thoughts of his kind heart, knowing that his spirit resides with God, where we will someday be reunited.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Karl Kay Womack.

A visitation for Karl will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
