She was born November 14, 1957 in San Fernando, California to the late Carl and Theresa Sciortino. She was the youngest of four children. Joy graduated from Sylmar High School in 1975 where she played varsity softball.
Joy made Las Vegas her home in 1994 to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother Theresa Sciortino and great-nephew Kevin Cordasco.
She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Bowman and wife Magna and her granddaughter, Natalie. Joy is also survived by her sisters Sandra Bianco, Jacquelyn Rinaldi and her husband Michael, Carla Kuhl; nephews James, Carl and Michael John and nieces, Jacquelyn and Melodie; and extended family.
She enjoyed getting together with family and friends. In her youthful days, she liked skiing, running and dancing. She was known for her infectious laugh and bubbly personality.
Joy was an accomplished escrow officer and was widely heard of throughout the city of Las Vegas. With over 40+ years of experience, she received multiple awards and recognition for her excellence as an escrow officer.
Joy loved her granddaughter Natalie dearly and she used to say how much happiness she brought to her life.
She will be remembered fondly and dearly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation for Joy will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM with a Rosary to follow beginning at 7:00 PM, both at 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur August 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121. A committal service will occur August 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A celebration of life will occur August 31, 2019 at 2:00pm at Green Valley Ranch, 2300 Paseo Verde Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052 (food and drinks will be served).
