My very first time meeting Matt 
Going out to Vegas to meet John’s family ! They we’re having a family gathering ….  Had a amazing time at the park getting to hang out …. Soon after the party began at Matt’s and Dani house party all night long had so much fun . We would go out to Vegas from time to time hang out with family… Thank you inviting us to celebrate your birthday party here are some beautiful memories I will cherish ❤️🙏🏻

Oh Matt, I miss you so much. I can’t stop playing Swing Swing by the All American Reject. You got me so hooked to that song. It brings back so many memories… that one time I taught you how to play this dice game for money and you actually ended up winning all my money lol or just how creative you were. You had me help you paint your door and all I can think of at the time was how cool you were for doing stuff like that. I’ll miss our ramen dates and our heart to hearts. I love you cousin.

Johnny , Brother Bear. My heart hurts that you may not have any memories of your dad and that he was taken from you to soon. I wanted to write a memory so you can look back and understand what kind of man he was. Your dad loved you so much. He loved matching outfits with you and buying you shoes. He looked so funny holding you because you were soo tiny and he was so big. I remember when he announced your mom was pregnant with you by putting Penny in a big sister shirt and surprising us. He was soo over joyed that he was going to be blessed with you. You changed his life forever when you came into this world. You were his Boy. The last memory I have was your first birthday. We planned for a birthday parade outside in the garage and he was so excited for that. Your dad needed a blood transfusion and he really wasn’t feeling all that great. He was giving everything he had to postpone the transfusion so he can be there for your parade. Your mom and I had to drag him to the hospital and he was crying that he wasn’t there for you. I know that you didn’t have much time with him but he spent every day holding you or thinking about you when he wasn’t there. Whatever you do in life, know that your dad loves you and he is proud of you.

Penny, I can not put into words how you might feel at the loss of your Father. All these memories mention how much your dad loves you and what a great dad he was. I wanted to write a memory on your behalf. You may not remember much but remember that you were his best friend. His ride or die. I remember when you were born your dad was scared and excited at the same time. His heart grew 10x that day when he saw your face. Your dad would make you breakfast every morning, usually fried rice with spam. He had an Instagram account dedicated to you and the outfits he put you in. He use to make fun of me and your mom because we let you and Sunny look dirty and he made you look like a star. You both would go on lunch dates and drop your mom Starbucks when she was working. The last memory I have was when your dad was in Mayo and the social worker pulled some strings to let you have a visit with him. You walked into the room and placed a small wooden cross in his hands from his bedside table. Your dad looked at me and told me that he’s doing everything he can to be here with you, that he wasn’t ready to leave you yet. Know that he loved you and your brother more than anything and he did everything he could to be there for you. He is your own personal angel, and he will never leave you.

My favorite memory of my cousin Matt was when he watched me fight for the first time. Things didn’t go my way. After the fight he hugged me and told me he was proud of me. Thank you for always believing in me when I didn’t in myself. Love you Matt

I had a dream of Ninong after he passed away.  In my dream Ninong was at my house, and he called me to tell me dinner was ready. We ate bacon, eggs and rice and soy sauce. My mom asked me if he looked happy and I said , he looks so happy Mom and he has no hair. I love you Ninong

You were the cousin that could bring everyone together. Thank you for the good times and all the memories. Thank you for always being there when I needed help baking cakes. You were so good with kids. I’m glad I got to see you become a father and raise your own family. You were the best dad. You’ll be forever missed Matt. I love you.

Uncle Matt was the best duet partner. My favorite memories with him were when he would teach me new guitar chords and we’d sing together for hours. It was so cool that we shared a love for music. I’ll miss singing with him and sending him songs. Forever my favorite musician. I’ll miss you always.

             I remember first meeting Matt when he was 10 years old. We threw frisbee for at least an hour, he could’ve played all day, he kept that same playful spirit into adulthood. He loved being around family and friends, he often initiated everyone getting together without needing any special occasion. I remember Matt and I winning charades against the cousins, category comedy, he said “one word” I said “Seinfeld” we won! That’s the type of special connection he had with people. We enjoyed exchanging recipes and trying each others food. Matt was interested in what my thoughts were on many subjects and our conversations would always pick up where they left off. He genuinely cared about how our family was doing and always offered himself for any help that may be needed. As all of us know Matt was one of kind and will forever be missed. 

Matt, I will miss you so much. You’ve taught me so much about life, love and the fragility of it all…  Hearing others’ memories of you, I realize the love, care and thoughtfulness that has always resided in your heart… the drop anything to help someone out type of person…like taking hours of your time to make a shooting game for Rio’s bday party, helping me and my sister fix my mom’s 60th bday cake, always encouraging and believing in Malia and her music. Also, how family oriented you were. You were such an amazing brother and son. Your were always keeping in touch and checking in with the cousins and your nieces/nephews,  you strived for togetherness.  Then becoming a father and husband I saw an even more nurturing, attentive and affectionate side of you. Now that you’re no longer with us, I’ve seen how you’ve  affected so many lives of everyone you’ve connected with. I was so lucky to have had you in my life all these years and I wish we could have had more time to create more memories but I know you’ll always be here for us…thank you for the impact you’ve had on my life. I’ll never forget you Matt Matt♥️

My favorite memory has to be when uncle matt came over to help me make a cake. Not just any cake, but a Nightmare Before Christmas cake. I remember seeing his and wanting to make that exact one for my schools cake walk. Our love for Halloween was unmatched. I’m happy I’ve gotten to bake for him and show him what he’s inspired in me. He was the homie, my uncle matt.

It's still not sunk in that you aren't here anymore and we won't get to see you anymore. But I chose to hold on to the great memories of our cake adventures and crazy times working at the bakery. I thank you for always being so supportive of everything I did and always willing to help. You will be missed beyond measure but just like everyone else I promise to look out for Dani and the kids and I look forward to the day I can tell them what an amazing friend and talented person their dad was. So rest easy my friend, you'll truly be missed.

Johnny was kind, loving, funny, a great friend and so much more. I’m grateful for the moments we shared and the funny memories I’m left with, like when he hid under a table and was swaying a chair to scare me! Thank you, Johnny for putting a smile on my face. Rest In Peace my friend.

I remembered when Ate Ilag and I visited you after your first surgery at UCLA,  you really showed courage and strength to put a smile on your face and engaged in the conversation despite of the pain you had endured. From then on, I really admire your resilience with all the treatments and hardships you’ve been through, you never fail until the very end with your will and enthusiasm to combat and beat this cancer. I will surely miss you cuz… until we meet again in the PARADISE.. I love you so much Matt! 

John was one of my favorite students at Silverado HS. I will never forget our times in English class nor the times he ensured the choir made their rounds by my room singing Carol of the Bells (my fave) during the holidays...always with the beat boxing...but most importantly I will always remember the kind and loving  human he was to not just me, but to his family and friends. This is certainly an incredible loss and I'm sending so much love to his wife and children. 

Oh Matt, my cousin, my Godson. You were such a loving person to everyone. Your infectious smile brightens even the darkest room. Your talent and artistic nature made the world such a colorful and positive place. You were so giving and helpful to anyone in need.  I was so proud of you as a man, brother, son, husband to Dani and above all as a father to Penny and Johnny.  You were the perfect description of what a  "Dad" should be.  You are my SUPERHERO, "BatMatt".  I will miss you dearly. You will be in my heart forever. I love you so much ❤❤❤

Your Ate Irene / Ninang

Johnny, I’m grateful to have met you, blessed that you were my sisters Best Friend/Brother  and devastated that you are gone. I’m going to miss your humor, your singing and the random tik tok conspiracies via text that ruin some fond memory of childhood. You were one in a million Batman and truly will be missed.

I met John back in 2008 and had the pleasure of knowing him all these years. We had many good times at a house a few of us friends had rented many years ago. We had the pleasure of enjoying many festivities and joyous gatherings that would include the infamous beer pong games and also performing  music. I will never forget the moments we shared through music and how we always wanted to work with him and to be the lead singer of our group. He was so talented from making music to baking amazing cakes and so much more. One time we threw him a surprise birthday party and he was indeed surprised and what a memorable night with so many of our friends it was! He always was a joy to be around and we will never see the same light John radiated again and I will forever miss you brother. Until we see each other again. Your next journey has begun. I love you. 

Batman always put a smile on my face. I remember whenever he got to work I was always laughing. He had a big personality with an even bigger heart. I will treasure the memories and you will never be forgotten.

He helped me through rough patches in my growing up and was always there for the people he cared about.

Kuya you are so funny and full of laughter. I’ll miss when you would make fun of me and Dani for looking like the 1000 lb sisters or Autumn for eating her boogers. When Dani and I would make fun of you, and you would get so sensitive. My favorite memory of you is when I was living alone and Pooh was barking at himself in a mirror. I called you to come over because I was so scared there was a ghost in my house. You called me stupid, but didn’t hesitate to come over to make sure I was OK. You always took care of me and I love you for that.

Rest in peace old friend John Suzuki aka Asian aka Batman! The first day we met I knew were going to be friends throughout our lives. From all of our choir classes, to the multiple trips we have been on from Disneyland to Hawaii. To all the fun we had during those years. It was always fun and never a dull moment. Time passed in between the times we spoke but we never missed a beat. You have always been one of the strongest people I knew with the best attitude and heart. You will be heavily missed my friend and it’s time to rest now. Love you Asian! 

Im going to miss the days when we watch the CUBS games.  Im going to miss the Kick Back days.  Im happy to have attended all the days i could with you with the homies and im glad i was their on your  special wedding day. Until we meet again this isn't goodbye,  this is I'll see you later fam.

It seems like it was just yesterday when  I went to Vegas with my family for the first time and stayed at your house with your Mom And Dad . You ,Kev ,JR ,Tin and Winnie were young back then and  can’t drink yet so we just play pool, watch  Saturday night Live and South Park all night.  I think that was the first time that we really spent time together . Im thankful for the time you spent with us last August when we came to visit ,your not feeling well but you still hang with us .We didn’t stay longer coz were planning to go back and spend the the holidays in Vegas so we can visit you again But He has other plans for you ....We love you and will be  missed forever. Your legacy and memory will live on thru Dani,Penny and Johnny ❤️

Hey Batman. 
 I was lucky to have meet such a great person and a great friend at RDI.  I will never forget our Chevron days. When on a daily basis you would find a way to scare Noemi.  How you would do the dolphin just to make us all smile.  How you would always call me out on my airhead terrisums. 
 You always knew how to make me smile on the days that I was down.  thank you for that. What a privilege to call you friend. I know you're gonna rock it in heaven, as we all know  one of your passion was music. I know you're doinG what you love right now. And I know that from heaven you're gonna be watching after your baby's, your wife and your family. You will always be missed and you'll never be forgotten. Long live Batman. Love you. 

Hey Matty, I just wanted to thank you for being a part of my life. You had so much talent in many areas. Our connection was in the culinary business side. I remember when you approached me with a food truck idea. We were going to make all kinds of fried rice to order. The name you came up with was ‘Rice Burners’. The concept was so good, I thought not just food truck, but let’s do brick and mortar as well. I was so excited. It would’ve given me a chance to spend more time with you and the Las Vegas family. I wish we could have done it. You would have hit that one out of the park

You still hit a home run though. You brought angels Dani, Penny and Johnny into our lives. I’m sure you’ll be watching over them, and be assured, we all will be too. We love them all as much as we love you, and that’s a lot of love.

You’re such an inspiration Matty. You were given such a heavy cross, but you endured it and you fought hard to the very end. Through it all, you didn’t complain. You just kept on pressing. And, I don’t know how, but that warm smile never left your face. I’m sure many are asking, ‘God, why did you take him from us so soon’. But Matty, you’re so incredible I’m asking; ‘God, what did I do to be blessed with knowing such a man’. I’m not closing with the traditional Rest In Peace. Johnny aka cuzzin, so down to earth. Always so family oriented. Family truly came first and still does. The times I’ve spent whether it be at my Grandparents house or your Parents house for thanksgiving was always a treat every year since you came into our family. Those moments I will always cherish. The amazing food that you poured your heart into was always so magical we had to leave in a wheel chair practically. You and cousin Ben putting a few back then singing a  few tunes on the ukulele we’re awesome. Such a smile that was contagious everyone else would smile. I love you bud! Batman Forever. I’m so lucky to have called you a best friend. I will miss your random FaceTime calls, if Keshia didn’t answer you would automatically call me.  Our chill nights watching my 600lb life, ordering a pizza and playing marbles were my favorite. You always had the best dad jokes! You always made fun of me, but it was always with love.  Our families became one, I knew it was real when you choose us to be Penny and Brothers Ninangs. No doubt that you became Kashton’s Ninong, her stinky Ninong. My dearest cousin, John Matthew Suzuki, who I have grown to call Matt. Trying to remember our child hood years. I remember there was Joe and Vince, Chris and Jay, Tin and Win, and Us. I remember how close we were growing up as kids. Sleeping over each others house, singing kidzsongZ, walking to the park next to my old house in Buena Park. I remember the good ol days when we would tear up nanays couches playing lava or climbing up the narrow hallway. As we got older and you guys moved to Las Vegas,  I would always stay at your apartment and we would go night swimming at complex pool. When you moved to Hawaiian Gardens, I thought it was a mansion and remember always spending the summers there. As we aged into our teen years, I was blessed to move in with you and your family. We both grew up to young men, spending days riding our bikes around the neighborhood, to Marshalls to buy clothes . You brought me in your circle of friends , made music videos and random videos that you shared to your whole choir group. I remember you set me up with some girl named April lmao. I remember when You asked me if I was ok, and I was becoming suspicious. You told me you saw the gay porn on the  computer and said, Kuya Kev, you live here with me now , you are my brother, you can tell me anything. That’s when I broke down and came out to you, making me feel protected, comfortable, and for once accepted at that time. I thank you for that. After that moment, I remember you joking saying if you should “call me ateh’ now” which made both of us laugh. I You were such a great person. A true definition of someone who has a kind unconditional heart. You had this strong exterior but a big  soft loving person. Everyone you met in high school loved you because you were that one person that always made people laugh and you carried that along with you throughout your adult life.

Part 2
You were so talented, you allowed me, us, to break away from our working lives and make music videos with Keisha. Your voice will always be on a continued playlist in my head as it just brought so much soulful joy. I’m going to miss your cooking especially your cream puffs. I remember always going to Johnny cakes to get them cream puffs! Just like your voice, your cooking eluded so much passion. I wish I had spent more time with you this past couple of years, and I regret that. You were one of the cousins that I’ve had more connection and history with and I will always forever cherish that. I will make sure my godson
johnny, penny will grow up knowing who you were. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you these past couple of months but I will hold that promise when you asked me to be Johnny godfather/mother. I will be there for him in your honor, show him and penny the love you have showed them, showed me and countless others. I, we our family, will be there for them and Dani. Rest my love, we will see you one day.

I am so very thankful that I got to know John for the short period that I did. A few years was not enough. John was one of the most supportive people I ever had the pleasure of knowing and he could never be forgotten. 

I’m so grateful to have you as my best friend and brother all these years. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being such a great Ninong to Kashton. Your hugs, your laugh, I’m going to miss EVERYTHING about you. I love you so much brother!

I never had the fortune of meeting John in person. He seemed like a genuine man who cared deeply for those around him. Based on the amount of lives he touched, and the company he kept, I know that him having passed is a tragedy beyond compare. My best goes out to all of you who feel this loss, and I think the best way to honor his memory is to create new ones that would make him proud. Much love to the Suzukis and Hesses.

You were  so happy going on remission, then I got diagnosed which was nothing compare to yours. You comfort me with my treatments and even offer an extra (on the side calming oils), in which I am scared to use.  Matt you are so brave and strong, I adore you, I know how hard it was getting the treatments cause I almost gave up, but you, you fight till the end. You had show us how important life is, to treasure every minute spend with love ones. You are now with our Lord, continue to watch over us and be the angel for the little ones. 

Part 2 

And that is  what I learned from him. To just Go out there and try new things. Don’t doubt yourself, shake off the fear and just put in the time and effort daily. Don’t contain yourself and just stay focus and committed to that craft and it will all work out .
He was a baker, singer, played the drums, ukulele, a dreamer, achiever, and most importantly a loving husband, father, brother, son and cousin. 
I’m going to miss his voice, miss his jokes, miss his smile and just simply miss his presence. Matt your legacy will live through all of us n I will try my best to do new things, be a better family member, smile more, give more, love better all because of you

As child Matt was very strong willed, funny , caring and loved being around the family ..
We all loved Matt as well..
When we all played together he played the hardest and gave his best.
In sports he wasn’t the most talented one but he gave his all, he was tough and played because all of us loved it..
Commitment was a quality Matt did not lack at all.. He never quit, thats why he so good at a lot of things even tho it took a lot of time and effort. To get good at anything Matt would give himself that time and effort to that specific craft. Commitment, a quality we all need to be successful in life and that’s why Matt was so good at many things.

My cousin was a jokester. He cracked a lot of jokes n made me laugh even when we were young ..
At a young age Matt was very thoughtful n very protective especially towards his little sister Wyn.
He was generous n thoughtful.
At times he would ask his mom to give me money when I didn’t have any ..
I’m his older cousin, 7 yrs older to be exact but we were close ..
Every summer Matt n the other cousins would sleep over for weeks at a time so yes we were very close...
He would sleep over my house for so long that he would even ask his Mom to bring groceries for all of us and she would ..
Matt loved being around the family.
As he got older He still kept the same qualities in being very loving, thoughtful and kept a smile though life even when the road was hard.
He stayed committed to bring joy to his family and to the world the best way he could.
He had a big personality and was very confident. 
When he would walk in it didn’t matter who was there his smile would brighten up the room.
Matt would do anything for anyone anytime. Always ready to give a helping hand. Matt had the biggest heart.
His 33 yrs of life was short but he mastered so many things in life more than many can do in a life time.

No words can describe how sad and painful this is to see you no longer with us, your family, wife and children. Looking back I am so grateful to have witnessed your first communion and babysit you after highschool. We've shared some good memories together. My favorite memory is the bottom picture because we tried to recreate the picture of me carrying you as a baby and you carrying me as an adult. We laughed so hard because you almost dropped me. Mattskies, we don’t even know where to begin. Saying, you will be truly missed would be an understatement . This has been one of the toughest loss and our hearts is still beyond heavy. We been through it all together from being young and free to married with kids. You have been there every step of the way. Always coming through with the best parenting advice. We wouldn’t have made it through countless of sleepless nights / car rides with Ari had it not been for you telling us to trust you and play Songs for Siena by Brian Crain. Thank you for simply being you. For being the glue in our family that’s always brings everyone together. For always checking on your goddaughter and being the BEST Nino / GODfather Ari can have. She is beyond blessed to have someone as special as you looking out for her from above. We all are. If I only knew that was going to be the last time I was going to see you I would of told you more than keep praying…. I would of told you that I freaking  love you Matt with all my heart!   And I would of pulled an all nighter with you!  But you know I wouldn't change anything about that day… cause we got to speak about God and Jesus and your girls and your family.  And after our talk to all our surprise you ended up joining our bible  study...  And I know in my heart our talk about God was one of the driving forces to see that miracle happen!  And  I knew then that you finally made peace with God, so I know with out a doubt you are up there in Heaven with my dad and mongo!  tell them both I love them and I miss you all!  I love you matt! "The beautiful irony is that our loss is another's reunion."  The night before you passed I saw this online and felt compelled to post it for some reason.  The next morning I learned you passed away.  The night you passed away I had a dream of you. You were standing in a hallway. You looked so healthy and happy.. so handsome. You had a smile on your face and you said, "Ate' Louielyn.. 8:25."  I questioned you, "What's that Matt?" You then said, "It's the time I died!" I woke up.. at least I thought I did. I was thinking why did I dream of that? Then I felt someone touch my hand. I was trippin out and thought I must still be dreaming. Later I saw Dani's post that you passed away at 9:25 in the morning. I still didn't know what 8:25 meant because it was the wrong time.  It was only later that I found out why I dreamnt that..  when I was visiting your family and I was telling them about my dream. They told me you died at 9:25 in Arizona but in your time it was 8:25. We were all shocked and I got goose bumps.  This week your Ate Joy smelled flowers in our house, followed by the smell of candles. I know all these signs are you visiting us. Even in the afterlife you are reaching out to me.. and I am grateful for your love. When you were alive, you always called me when I was in town and you were always excited to hang out with the family. I will always be thankful for your effort and the times we spent together. I'm going miss you always hugging on me.. our jokes and all the laughter.. our little talks and great times we had.. I'm going to miss your company.  I know I will forever miss you and will always feel your absence.  I will never forget the great person you are and that big heart your. I love you cuz.. "

John,  our meeting was brief but in that short moment I got to know you and your family. I was rooting and praying so hard for you to get better.  You told me that you'd do anything to live longer for your loved ones.  You were so brave and you fought hard! Your family loves you as much as you love them. Your passing came as a shock. My cousin ❤️ I love you. This is soo hard to write seems like we’ve been losing loved ones left to right. You most of all, so loving, compassionate, and understanding. Being young too. I’ve known you my entire life, and have seen you grown from a child to a man. Even with the struggles and hardships you’ve endured.  You always kept a smile on your face, you always held family down. I really didn’t expect this to happen. To lose you so soon,  but God only knows what’s best for you, There’s more to life than what we think we know on this earth. He took you to his forever home, our forever home. Which  one day we will rejoice with you, and you will still welcome us home with open arms in the afterlife, with the same hospitality you always showed us on this earth. Thank you for always believing in me, and Bianka. I know you are at peace, no longer suffering and eternally resting with those we have lost. I miss our conversations, your encouraging words, your witty sense of humor. Being able to hug you, and feel your presence.  …. I know in time when all the hurt of losing you subsides, and this to will pass. I’ll still be able to hold that connection, your love and feel your presence with in my heart.  I love you Cousin. 

Signs my son visited me : 1) smelling of flowers on the morning he died in his room in Mayo Clinic 11/15/2021 at 09:25 ( his birthday is 9/25 ) 2) On the 4th or 5th day of novena prayer , Penny cried in their master bedroom , I tried the light switch 3 xs and 3xs it will make a light but suddenly lights goes off , then I asked him “ Kuya , I need light “. 3) After the 9th day Novena 11/23, after we went home , I carried Sunny to our bed and right away the TV turned on ( I checked the bed , no remote was found ) Guess where the remote was ? In the trash can . Today 11/30 16 days after he passed away , when I woke up and opened the back door , there were lots of feathers scattered on the floor . Just now, 11/30 at 12:30 ish Johnny touch the hand frame of his dad, and smell the flowers. He didn’t even knock out the flower vase . To our amazement , we cried ( tears of happiness ) these were all the signs I know my son visited me and I know that there will be more visitation and to let me know that , “ I’m OK mom “

John. I can’t believe you left us. My memories with you will always stay close in my heart.  My favorite memories with you always involve us in choir. I had the greatest times with you and sharing our love for music.  I can’t put into words what I feel and the sadness I feel that your gone. I’m so blessed you were my friend for over half my life.  Thank you for the  memories and so many laughs. 

John and I first met when we were in the 6th grade. We instantly became friends and were inseparable because we shared the same passion for music. I'll always cherish the time we spent singing and creating music together. John was always the life of the party and a trustworthy friend. He was truly one of the most selfless, generous, and lovable guys that I have ever known. I'm so grateful that we were able to spend time together on your last birthday. Love you always and rest in peace, brother.

From concerts to birthdays to chill nights listening to you sing.. my memories of you will always be bright. I have never met someone so loving and welcoming before. You always included everyone and made us feel like family from day one. It’s crazy all the people you brought together. My favorite thing about you were your hugs. The random ones where you’d be standing next to me and just hug me. You will be missed but never forgotten. We love you.

When I first met Johnny he just got hired at our job. He had the coolest car, I felt because it looked like the batmobile. I will never forget asking you if I could call you Batman. From that day forward you were Batman to me and then you became my brother. You would look out for me, talk to me, and give me the best advice. You made me feel like I had a older brother who would protect me. You made me feel like family. You would be the one to give me tough love. I love you always and forever my Kuya! You will always be my Batman !

16 years we have known each other. You have been a part of my favorite memories from when we were kids and remained a great friend even in adulthood. You and Austyn were battle buddies. We always checked in on one another. You always knew when I needed a kind word from you. You always made me feel like I belonged even when I felt so out of place. There are so many memories that put a smile on my face and that I will forever cherish, but one of my favorites is when we were caroling the halls of Silverado and we all grew bored of the same music so we started singing Feliz Navidad and you beat boxed. I will never be able to listen to Christmas music, Bruno Mars or bake a cake without thinking of you or hearing you in my head and heart. I will always be family to your family.  Thank you for changing my life for the better with your friendship. "Walk on through the wind. Walk on through the rain. Though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone." We will never walk alone because you are with us.

John was a kind, loving person. I remember him introducing me and welcoming me to his group of friends at work, when I was new and assigned to sit next to him. He always talked about Dani, how she looked like Taylor Swift —we talked about music and singing, and I quickly became close to John & this group of friends. We’d all hang out on the weekends and would go out to lunch to a local bar during our lunch hours sometimes. John always brought so much laughter and happiness, no matter what we were doing. He was such a great listener, and gave the best advice. John was caring and protective of his friends… he treated them like family. I am happy to have known John, despite growing apart a bit once we all got married and started our families. 
John, you will live on through your beautiful wife and babies. I am honored to have been your friend. Until we meet again, friend. 

I saw Matt the day he was born , he was my godson until to his journey of life here on earth. As a child he was spoiled but not brat , clingy n needy to his parents especially to his mom since he was the first born child n scared to sleep in the dark . As he grew up in his high school years his talent was enormous, he learned the art of painting . singing, playing guitar, cooking n baking . He made a beautiful mural in their family room covered the whole wall. He made him joy n happiness to decorate during holidays and to entertain friends n families.              Grew up as a young man , he was faithful to then girlfriends Dani and eventually married her . He was responsible ,caring n loving to his own family . Regardless of going through the  terrible illness his facing . You fought so hard Matt .. we are all saddened to see you gone at an early age when you are still in the prime of your life . But you are now in God’s hand , no more pains and sufferings .. Your legacy Matt will live forever . Amen . We love you till we meet again inaanak 🙏  ❤️       

Matt, I saw you grew up with your cousins from birth. I remembered  your childhood in Bingham was full of love, laughters and playing with your cousins until you all dropped tired.You were surrounded with the love of family and cousins. I remembered ,every time we were in Vegas to visit, you would always come by and invite us over to hangout, bbq and chill and get together. I remembered bowling nights whenever we our up there in Vegas with all your cousins, joking around and laughing. You have the biggest sense of humor. Your laughter, your smile and your big embrace I will hold dearly in my heart.
Matt you will be remembered as an amazing person with a big heart. You showed us so much love till the end, you fought hard to be here with us, but God wants His best for you. Your legacy will leave forever through your children and family. I love you Matt and miss you…till we meet again.

John and I met at work in 2013. He and I were not the biggest fans of each other at first. We grew a beautiful friendship that turned into family. We’ve been there for each other for the most beautiful moments of our lives. We’ve also been there for each other for the hardest. My brother was a loving man. He cared for everyone he met. John was the one person that I always could go to for advise. He made me think of my actions and down right put me in my place. I will forever be grateful for my brother. I will always be his little sister. I love you Johnny. 

I saw you growing up with your cousins, you are really close to each other. You even took my children as godparents to your son Johnny .  You are a loving and caring son, husband, father and brother, you didn’t give any problems to your parents growing up. You always have a Smile in your face with good sense of humor , you easily find a friend coz of your kindness.  I remember calling you for help and you don’t have any hesitation in coming to help me , you are really good person inside and out .          
                 Thank you , I was able to attend your 33 birthday this September 25, not thinking it was the last! I witnessed your happiness on your birthday and you were excited to blow the candles and entertain the guest, but your sadness is still visible on your face , you fought hard untill the end of this journey,  now our dear Lord is with you , no more pain and suffering. You are now the guardian Angel of your family especially to your wife Dani and children Penny and Johnny , watching and guiding over them.

Matthew had the gift of showing his many love languages not only thru the love he had for his family ,but also thru baking. I remember making cake pops for the first time  in Las Vegas and cousin Matt was there to taste them. To my surprise he loved them, we always enjoyed his cupcakes and cakes.They were perfectly not to sweet and displayed his beautiful unique touches…He had such passion and drive at a young age and started Johnny Cakes !Fast forward a couple years later and we asked our cousin Matthew if he would make our wedding cake in 2015. Without hesitation he said yes and did not even charge us. He worked on our cake for numerous hours ,bringing all his supplies from Las Vegas to San Francisco. It was perfect..I remember on our wedding day as we were cutting the cake with Matthew we started cutting from the top piece and we all bursted in laughter..and that’s when he let us in on a secret😊
In the short 33 years of life that you were given here on earth cousin,I pray that you knew that you were loved..that you were the strongest fighter we know and that you are resting in GOD’s loving arms🙏We love you baby cousin ❤️

33 years Son , time flies , it just seems like yesterday.  I remember that you didn’t want to come out in this world sooner because you let mommy sweat and labored for 18 hours before you came out . Oh by the way , you almost died or I almost had C -Section because your dad was so talkative talking non stop to Dr. Mercado that both of them were not watching the heart monitor . By the time they realized your heart rate was slowly going down Your umbilical cord was wrapped around your neck . Now blame it on daddy , lol. When it was your 1st day in pre school , you cried non stop when dad and I dropped you , call it separation anxiety because you slept with mommy and daddy till you’re 13. You even made your sister sleep on the floor. Hahaha. Elementary days came and every now and then the teacher calls me in the office to upgrade your performance , it became a joke with your aunties and uncles that the only reason you pass is because I donated the encyclopedia . Lol. High school came , you were very active on extra curricular activities . You were in the choir . And not that I hate that you were in the choir but on Christmas time , there’s always a program and I dragged myself to drive , ( you know how much mommy hates to drive) but once the program started you gave me happiness and satisfaction watching you performing on the stage . I am so proud of you . You were liked, have lots of friends and you bloomed. Going to college you begged me to attend culinary school even though I want you take a course related to hospital setting . Your choice won , it just shows your persistence and perseverance when you want something . You finished top in your school at the Art Institute,  and during the showcase you were hired on the spot. This was not heard of, and you were the first. I’m so proud of you Kuya . Dating came, you had lots of girlfriends ( but of course one at a time ) I think you’re a ladies man that it’s not hard to fall in love with you .

Dani  came into your life. She is your friend , confidant and at the very end became your angel . The last 5 years had been a roller coaster ride with you and to all of us . There was a good time and a bad time . You fought hard  not only for you but especially for Dani, Penny and Johnny . You were strong and brave . I know there were lots of pain , heartache and longing but your time here on earth was cut short  . You will be in eternal paradise Kuya and I know you’re watching and guiding all of us . You were family and cousins oriented . Growing up with your sister Winnie you’re overly protective of her . You don’t want her to get physically hurt and always holding her hand. You’re a best uncle and Ninong to Autumn ( same birthday as you ) and Sunny (who’s named after you, Sunshine). You don’t speak ill to others . You were generous when you have and you’re needy when situations arises. Hard to believe that I can’t hear your voice or touch your face and even embrace you . My consolation is you’re OK now . I love you Son . Goodbye till we meet again in another life . Goodnight and sweet dreams ( like I always text you when you were in Mayo) Heaven gained another angel name John Matthew Lazaro Suzuki .

I met Matt through his cousin Vince back in 2002, from the very beginning he was always so welcoming to me. Through the years he also referred to me as one of his own cousins, for that I will forever be grateful for, as he looked at me as family. 
Matt is also the reason why I am currently at the job I am at now, we worked together for over a year. The moment I logged into my computer for work, the first skype message I would receive was from him saying Good Morning Cuz!! Through that year we worked together we got even closer, shared a lot of conversations and gained more memories together. 
I remember the day he texted me he and Dani were expecting their first child, the joy and happiness he felt to be a father, I knew he would be the greatest Dad and he truly was to his kids; Penny and Johnny. I also remember the first time he asked me to watch Penny so he and his wife Dani could attend a wedding, to me that meant a lot as he trusted me to watch their daughter even through the night. 
Matt was also a great baker, he made me my baby shower cake and my son's baptismal cake. He had so many talents! Matt will forever be remembered as an amazing person with such a big heart. He was so full of life and showed so much love to those around him. He is one of the strongest person I know. He fought so hard to be here with us, we will never forget that and your legacy will live on forever. I love you Matt. Until we meet again...

One day on Facebook I saw John post about some Zuppa Toscana that he made at home. I had message him to ask for the recipe and he sent it to me almost instantly. Because of John, I now get to enjoy my favorite soup from home whenever I want. Rest in peace, John. We love you and will miss you always.

Kuya, my Sunshine, my Brother. I will always love you and there will never be a day I don’t think about you and your beautiful soul. You were the reason I had so much light and love within me; and now without you, I don’t think I can shine as bright as I once did. You are the best Ninong to my girls and they will be better people for having you in their lives, even if it was only for a short time. You dedicated your life to take care of me and I promise I will take care of your beautiful children and Dani. I love you so much and miss you tremendously, but I know you are watching over us and guiding us to be just as kind and strong as you are.  Watching you sacrifice the things you loved most just to hope for another day makes me want to live a more fulfilled life in your honor. I know your suffering wasn’t in vain and you are reaping all the rewards God has promised you.

You were such a light to be around. Goofing off in Math class, drawing amazing art in minutes just because. You embraced everyone, such a beautiful person, inside and out. I am so happy we stayed closed right outta high school. As time passed, life pushed in different directions, still managing a quick hello here and there. You were a man capable of so much. Accomplished so much, and while your journey was cut short, the impact you made, on each person you crossed, will continue to live on. You will live on through your beautiful family. Rest peacefully, and keep singing. 

My fondest memories of Johnny were his infectious smile and his love for anything in the kitchen. He was a great husband and father. He was multitalented as an artist with music and crafts. And above all with what life dealt him He still had a smile on his face and a big heart. A very brave young man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
