John Idica Gomez, age 92, passed away at St Rose Siena Hospital in Henderson, Nevada on October 27, 2020. John was born in Sinait Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Agapito and Elena Gomez. He moved to Hawaii in 1946, and after completing his service in the US Army during the Korean War, he met and married his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Padua Gomez in 1958. They raised their family in Hawaii and in 1990 they moved to Las Vegas. John worked for ONO Construction as a Mason and Tile Setter for over 30 years before retiring. He was known for being an excellent cook, and for being an animal lover. Many strays were cared for by him over the years on job sites and at home.
