John W. Galvan, 79, of Henderson, NV passed away November 9, 2022 after fighting a valiant battle against cancer. John was born and raised in California’s central valley. An avid sports lover, he excelled in sports in high school and remained active in sports throughout his life.
John met his wife, Natalie, were engaged after just two months of dating, and were married for 54 years. He was a loving husband to Natalie and a wonderful father to his two daughters, Michele and Melissa.
John was a pioneer of the computer age, with a career in information technology that spanned 50 years. He was also involved in many organizations and clubs through his church and community. He was always supportive of his daughters and his grandchildren, lending a hand or resources in support of their endeavors, always encouraging, and setting the example of integrity and strong work ethic. He lived by his favorite John Wayne quote, “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.”
He was loved very much and will be missed beyond measure by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife, Natalie; daughters Michele (Jaime) Guanzon, and Melissa (Robert) Bingham; grandchildren, Julia, Yianni, Stephen, Aiden, and William. He is also survived by his brothers Jerry (Nancy) and Fermin (Rosie); sisters Theresa (Greg), Clara (Bruce), Virginia (Klaus), Victoria (Rene) and Gloria (Robert), as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Mary.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, with viewing at 9am, rosary at 10am, and followed by Mass at 11am at St. Thomas More Catholic Community in Henderson.
