Joanne Theresa Tartaro

She was born on March 23rd 1951, in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Carmela Viola. At age 24, Joanne was married to Louis Tartaro, her beloved partner for life, until his death in 2012. After graduating from high school, Joanne went on to work for the Federal Government in the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) until her retirement in 2011. At the time of her death, Joanne was the President of the St. Clare’s Women’s Guild at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was very active in the community.

Joanne loved to travel, knit, eat good food and spend time with family & friends.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer, who lives in the Southern California area. The two shared an extremely close and unbreakable bond. Funeral Services will be held 3-7pm, November 23rd at Palm Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on November 24th at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 12pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City, Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
