In the early hours of June 16th 2022 James (Jim) Edward Stone lost his extremely courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on May 19, 1943 in Southern California to Harold and Pearl Stone. Jim is survived by his adoring wife Nina Stone, 4 children Danny Long (Dana Lee), Kenny Long (Sara West), Brian Long (Vanessa Long), Gina McKay (Ron McKay), 16 grandchildren Ashley, Makayla, Devin, Raelynn, Caden, Serena, Juliet, Keilani, Alahna, Kailei, Adisyn, Makai, Savannah, Suriya, Seleen, Bryan, great grandson Milo and Brother Bill Stone (Sharon Stone).
Jim was the glue to this family. A Husband, Father, Brother, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Friend. He fought so hard to be here for all of us until the very end, and even then he was still trying to hold on for our sake. Jim worried and cared more for everyone else than he did for his own self. He will always be remembered for being loyal, genuine, loving, hard working, selfless, honest, stubborn as heck, and one hell of a bargain hunter! This man absolutely loved his family.
He took pride in all he did every single day of his life. He was a man of his word, so if he told you something he meant it. He dressed to impress and didn’t dare leave the house with wrinkles in his clothes. He was a lover of cars, fishing and food. Anything his kids had going on he was there, anything mom needed he was there. If his grandchildren needed him, he was there. They were his world! He refused to let them go without and no matter what they did or said he stuck around and you weren’t going to tell him otherwise.
Jim served proudly in the US Navy and became an Aviation Mechanic as well as an Aviation Store Keeper. He wanted everyone to succeed and didn’t want them to settle for anything less than what they deserved.
Jim touched many lives near and far and when you remember him you’ll remember him in all these ways and more. He left us with many memories, thoughts, and stories of good times together, so when you think of him try to remember that he wouldn’t want us to stop living because god has called him home, he would want us to live our best life and so that’s what we we’ll do.
We promise to take care of mom for you, she will never go without and she will never be alone.
We love you!
