Jerri Ray

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Mother/Sister/Grandmama/Meemaw/Great-Grandmother Jerri Melinda Ray. She grew her wings at 65 -years-old on August 10th, 2022 at 8:15pm.

She is the daughter of Margie Payton and Raymond Payton; mother to Jessica Yusofzei; sister to Robin Baker; aunt to Bryce and Dylan; grandma to Ryan and Bianca, Majid and Vanessa, and Mariah; and great-grandma to Ethan, Evan, Aden, and our new little one on the way.

In addition to her full-time job of being a loving home healthcare provider, she was also a seamstress, a painter, a skilled carpenter/Ms. Fix-It, a loving dog mommy/grand-mommy to her sweet Lucky, Sparky, Roamy, and Happy, a jewelry-maker, a baby blanket crocheter, the best fluffy scrambled egg maker, the most gentle hair-braider/hairdresser, and a nurturing bird whisperer (even to pigeons).

As she left our world she left with us a thousand memories; the laughs that made our eyes swell with tears, our jaws hurt, and our bellies ache. We will love her to the moon and back until our worlds meet again.

A memorial service for Jerri will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
