In 1963 Janice met her devoted husband Richard Chura, of Steamboat Springs Colorado, while he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. Richard Chura worked extremely hard to become a successful Las Vegas gas station business owner, private pilot, and flight instructor for Howard Hughes Airport. Richard preceded Janice in death in 2001. They were married for over 35 years and built a unique and incredible life together. Janice enjoyed working periodically as a PBX phone operator at the Fremont Hotel and The Four Queens Hotel. She often shared many stories about crossing paths with Iconic musicians who performed on the strip. Janice also pursued and completed the Al Tate School of Cosmetology just prior to having her first child, Perri Chura. Janice always, always, cut and styled her own hair even at the age 79. She was of strong Christian faith since the age of twenty-two and deeply devoted to family. After having two more children Amy and Lori, Janice set aside her own goals and focused on becoming a devoted wife and loving mother. For over 25 years, The Chura family life centered around HORSES, faith, friendships, and a lot of travel. Janice also spent time helping and guiding others. She was very involved in the former West Oakey Baptist Church and the Church of Christ. Janice loved Winchel’s coffee and their maple bar doughnuts. It was not uncommon for Janice to still place Sunday football bets even at the age of seventy-nine. Janice was a beautiful person inside and out. Her life was full of love and opportunity.
